[size=18]Deputy Alia Nassif, on Thursday, called on all supervisory authorities to intervene to prevent the Minister of Electricity from signing any contract during the caretaker government, considering that what is currently going on in the Ministry of Electricity is a "real disaster for public money."

"The Minister of Electricity will hold a meeting with the Contracts Committee to pass some projects, and he will discuss six contracts, most notably the transfer of Siemens units from the simple cycle to the vehicle," Nassif said in a statement.

Nassif added that "the passage of any contracts currently is bypassed by the minister over his powers, and all supervisory authorities should intervene to prevent him from signing any contract," considering that "what is going on in the Ministry of Electricity is a real disaster for public money."

Nassif confirmed that she "published many things in her previous statements, but no action has been taken in this regard, and soon you will hear news about the presence of many people abroad."

Representatives earlier revealed a "new corruption scandal" at the Ministry of Electricity represented by efforts by officials in it to conclude contracts with "unprecedented commissions", calling for "clearing the ministry of corrupt elements that made it a source of looting of funds and the destruction of the Iraqi economy."
