    Today, Thursday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, announced his adoption of the Wasit project, the agricultural capital of Iraq.
    And the Presidency of the Republic said, in a statement received by (Al-Oula News), that “the President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, the Governor of Wasit Muhammad Jamil al-Mayahi,” noting that he “listened to a detailed talk presented by the governor about the service and economic reality of the province.” .
    The President of the Republic stressed the need to pay attention to the agricultural sector, which represents the backbone of the province.
    The President touched on the agricultural reality in the city, pointing to “the importance of giving the issue of water greater attention for the success of agricultural plans,” pointing out that “waste and exceeding water quotas is absolutely unacceptable, and there is an unfair distribution of water, and we need good management of water resources.” And everyone must shoulder the responsibility, cooperate and work together to overcome the water scarcity.”
    He stressed that he "will visit Wasit Governorate as soon as possible to see the reality of the governorate and the services provided to citizens," noting "the necessity of concerted efforts to achieve development and recovery in the city's facilities, in a way that contributes to the development of services and rehabilitation of infrastructure."
    The governor expressed his thanks to the president and his gratitude for his follow-up and interest in the conditions of Wasit governorate, expressing his hope that “the president will adopt the project of Wasit, the agricultural capital of Iraq.”
    While the President of the Republic confirmed that he “will fully adopt and support this project.”
    The governor of Wasit pointed out that "the provinces need support and attention to advance the infrastructure in a manner commensurate with the reality and status of Iraq."
