Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf announced today, Tuesday, that the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, had invited the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to visit Iraq.
Al-Sahhaf said to the official agency, followed by Mawazine News, that "the Iraqi ambassador to Kuwait, Al-Manhal Al-Safi, met today, at Bayan Palace, Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and handed him a written message addressed by the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf." Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, related to the historical bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
He added, "The message included inviting the Emir to visit his second country, Iraq," noting that "the Crown Prince expressed his deep thanks for the kind invitation, and emphasized the depth of the deep fraternal relations that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples." Ended 29 / m99
