    [size=45]The Baghdad Investment Commission, chaired by Engineer (Al-Hassan Jamil Hassan), today, Monday, 14/8/2023, held its second periodic meeting with representatives of government institutions and directors of districts, sub-districts and municipalities in the capital, Baghdad, and in the presence of the Governor of Baghdad, Engineer (Mohammed Jaber Atta) and his deputy, Professor (Abdul Karim Khalaf). ) to present the investment opportunities available in Baghdad (the center and the periphery) and prepare them for the Iraq International Investment Forum, which will be held during the month of October, and in which a number of important investment opportunities will be presented in various sectors to draw the investment map of the capital, as the forum will be joined under the auspices and supervision of the honorable Prime Minister and with the participation of investment commissions In Iraq and in cooperation with the sectoral authorities related to the investment process.[/size]
    [size=45]This second periodic meeting came a few days after it was preceded by a meeting that included the governors with the heads of the commissions, under the auspices of the Prime Minister's office and the presence of the head of the National Investment Commission. To create investment opportunities and present them at the international forum. The attendees discussed the new criteria for preparing the unified investment map to ensure qualitative leaps in the investment sector. Atta also instructed, during the meeting, to all administrative units to present the investment opportunities available to them and to specify the activities to be implemented in a way that serves the people of Baghdad, provided that these opportunities obtain all approvals.[/size]
    [size=45]Stressing that the capital needs real opportunities that must be studied extensively and presented to sober companies, provided that these opportunities are of great value in terms of area and effectiveness, and if their ownership is not affiliated with the administrative units, the entity belonging to them can be determined.
    During the meeting, Hassan Jameel mentioned the need to choose suitable opportunities for establishing important strategic projects that are commensurate with the needs of the capital, and called for investing in various recreational, educational, residential, industrial and health fields due to the urgent need for them. As the capital, Baghdad, needs today about one million housing units, and there is a clear direction to implement them in the outskirts. In addition to the capital's need for development projects that contribute to reviving the local economy and making it one of the active economies in the region. This forum will be a complement to the new cities initiative put forward by the federal government represented by the state Honorable Prime Minister and announced by the National Investment Commission.[/size]

    [size=45]Al-Hassan mentioned that the investment forum that Baghdad is preparing for comes within the decisions of the governmental program adopted by the federal government to activate the role of the non-governmental investment sector and enhance the role of the private sector. To create promising investment opportunities and present them transparently in order to make the investment process successful for the country, especially since there is a great desire by major Arab and foreign companies to enter the Iraqi investment market and implement distinguished projects in it.[/size]
