The Executive Director of the Government Reform Cell, Amer Al-Adad, stated that the government is determined to provide modern systems to reduce manipulation in the customs and border crossing sectors.
Al-Adad said, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the necessity of accelerating the automation of customs and using the latest technology with the aim of regulating commercial movement and protecting consumers on the one hand, and implementing customs policies efficiently and transparently on the other hand.”
He added, "The success of the Border Ports Authority in thwarting various smuggling operations was one of the most important signs of progress in this file, as it directed the necessity of coordination between the three parties to continue success and escalate its pace."
Al-Adad stated, "The government also depends on honest employees who can report cases of fraud or smuggling that occur in those departments, which makes it a model institution."
