    He stated, “The extreme weather conditions in Iraq, including record temperatures and lack of rainfall, have caused the expansion of drought and desertification, the shrinkage of agricultural lands, land degradation, the increase in dust and sand storms, the loss of natural resources, and the resulting economic challenges that have led to an increase in poverty and an increase in the rate of internal displacement.” and foreign migration.

    He pointed out that "Iraq submitted its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) document to be the highest ambitious policy to increase resilience to climate change, which outlines our future plans for mitigation, adaptation and achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The second national communication report on climate change and the biennial updated report on the emissions inventory in Iraq will be prepared." “This reflects Iraq’s commitment to sharing its climate commitments with the world.”

    Rashid explained, “The Iraqi government has taken rapid measures to implement clean and renewable energy projects, and to reduce associated gas emissions in oil production and stop burning and benefiting from it, leading to zero associated gas emissions in 2030, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity system by enhancing its efficiency.” .

    He continued, "Iraq and its neighboring countries in the Gulf are on the front lines to confront the effects of climate change, and even if the world is able to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and limit the increase in average temperature to below two degrees, the rise in temperature, especially on the shores of the Gulf, will exceed this limit by several degrees." grades".

    The President of the Republic called on neighboring countries in the Gulf to "exert more efforts to strive together as one negotiating group with a unified position that shows the difficulty of our climate future to the world and seeks to guarantee the rights of our peoples, and to establish a regional grouping that includes the eight riparian countries on the Gulf."

    He condemned, "the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip and its citizens, and we call on the international community to stand up to this aggression, and we reiterate our position on the Palestinian issue by emphasizing that the Palestinian people have the right to self-determination."
