The Martyrs Foundation is working with the National Investment Authority to obtain 7,000 housing units to allocate to its beneficiaries, provided that it pays their value and distributes them free of charge.
The head of the Foundation, Abdul-Ilah Al-Naeli, told Al-Sabah: The Foundation’s law guarantees the right to housing for all beneficiaries covered by its law from the three categories (victims of the fallen regime or terrorism and martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces), indicating that the Foundation held an expanded meeting with the National Investment Commission to discuss the possibility of providing housing. Suitable for its beneficiaries through investment, it is proposed to the Investment Authority to form joint committees to develop mechanisms for allocating 5,000 housing units to be distributed free of charge among the families of the martyrs, provided that the appropriate complexes for them are selected.
In the same context, the Investment Authority, for its part, expressed its readiness to provide 2,000 housing units provided that the Foundation pays their value, indicating that there is a major negligence regarding the rights of martyrs by the relevant departments and institutions, especially in the file of lands and housing units, in addition to the lack of financial allocations allocated to cover them. Expenses for the cash allowance for the housing unit, the real estate grant, and the accumulated salaries of the martyrs, especially since all of these rights are obligatory for the state and must be adhered to by government institutions.
