    Information / Baghdad..
On Tuesday, the Finance Committee, headed by Atwan Al-Atwani, discussed with the head of the National Retirement Authority and the head of the Public Service Department in the Ministry of Finance the procedures for amending the Landlords Law.
In a statement received by Al-Maalouma, the Chairman of the Finance Committee stressed the importance of “the owners’ law and the keenness to legislate the law in the required form to remove injustice from a large segment of employees.”
Al-Atwani pointed out “addressing the departments about their need to create appropriate job titles, in addition to discussing the file of those who will be retired soon, and finding legal solutions regarding them.”
Al-Atwani announced that "the law will be legislated during the coming period."
The committee stressed "the necessity of finding real solutions to the issue of lifting housing and referring to retirement, and developing a legal text that guarantees no harm to the employee or the state, in a manner consistent with public service procedures and achieving social justice."
The head of the Retirement Authority reviewed the observations on “the issue of those referred to retirement soon as pertaining to the authority,” explaining “the issues related to referral and the standards followed, taking into account the financial aspect, and the need to address the matter by amending the law.”
In turn, the head of the job department at the Ministry of Finance presented “the procedures for promotion and granting bonuses according to career progression and the end of service in accordance with the law.” He also spoke about the procedures for amending the law “in line with the public job in the state.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, Parliamentary Finance noted “the importance of reviewing the economic effects of the law’s enactment on the public and private sectors, with a focus on preparing an appropriate formulation that is consistent with the requirements of the labor market.”
She stressed her keenness to "legislate a fair and equitable staffing law that meets the needs of employees and contributes to enhancing social justice, and the necessity of cooperating with the relevant authorities to prepare a final formulation of the law that takes into account all aspects and achieves a balance between the interests of employees and the interests of the state."
