Standard Chartered Bank organized a forum on investment funds in the Middle East

Set
up Standard Chartered Bank recently forum for customers about services
of investment funds in the Middle East and North Africa, in the presence
of an elite group of corporate banking clients in the Bank and a number
of administrators.
During extended discussions and open forum on
the development and trends of these funds and the regulatory changes
affecting this sector in the region.
The Secretary discussed the
Al-khouli, Director of asset management at numbers capital, potential
investment funds in comparison with the traditional wave of direct
investments in the stock markets. Also talk about some of the regional
markets experiencing remarkable growth in this area, principally Saudi
Arabia and U.A.E. State.
In turn, explained Mark hambak,
Executive Director of the Gulf Mena for mutual investment, different
types of investment fund structures prevailing in the GCC countries,
noting the increasing demand in the region to "Cayman Islands" and other
investment funds based abroad.
And then the sumit Sharma, head
of investment products and consultancy in the Standard Chartered Bank,
an overview of what the funds invested in the region, highlighting the
best practices for choosing mutual funds.
Commenting on the
industry in the region, "Stewart Adams, regional Chairman of the
investors and brokers for transaction banking in the Middle East and
North Africa at Standard Chartered Bank:
"Investment funds, less
than 10 percent of total market value in the Middle East and North
Africa. This is due to a number of important factors, including draws
more investors to directly invest in the stock markets, and regulatory
environment that is still under development, the weakness of the
financial markets in terms of providing liquidity and assets of all
kinds. "
He added: "it should be noted that the private sector
has enormous growth potential, especially after the recent financial
crisis, investors in the region to focus on diversification of the
portfolio. Some markets have seen the likes of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
marked growth in the area of investment funds, are likely to extend this
to other markets in the region. "
The Standard Chartered Bank is
active in the Middle East for over 92 years and offers a variety of
investment products and services to individual and corporate clients,
including providing a comprehensive portfolio of services to meet the
requirements of the investment funds sector.
