Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of ISIS, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, a source in Nineveh province has revealed information about the death of the ISIS leader, known as Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, influenced by his wounds after he was hit in an air strike in Nineveh.

The source informed IraqiNews, that an information has reached the people in Nineveh indicating that the leader of the ISIS group, known as Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been killed after he was hit in an air strike by the international coalition in the area of al-Salamiyah, located southeast of Nineveh.

For his part, a tribal leader in Nineveh province has confirmed, that al-Baghdadi is currently alive, and that he was moved to a hospital in the town of Deir al-Zour, located in the ISIS-controlled territory in Syria.

ISIS leader al-Baghdadi executes 56 ISIS members after defeat south of Erbil

Kurdistan (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, an official in the Kurdistan Democratic Party revealed that the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ordered to execute 56 elements of the organization after his defeat in Cowir area south of Erbil, adding that more than 400 other ISIS elements were killed and wounded during clashes with the Peshmerga forces.

Media official of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Mosul, Saed Mimousini, said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi executed 56 of his men after their defeat at the hands of the Peshmerga forces in Cowir area southern of Erbil,” noting that, “The executions took place in Nimrod area east Mosul.”

Mimousini added, “The battles between ISIS and the Peshmerga in the southern areas of Erbil resulted in killing nearly 300 elements of organization and injuring 102 others,” adding that, “Mosul hospitals are crowded with ISIS wounded amid declining services, health and medical supplies in the province.”

Urgent: al-Baghdadi, senior ISIS leaders injured in aerial bombing in Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday,  a local source in Nineveh province revealed there are reports about the injury of the ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and a number of prominent senior leaders in aerial strikes launched by the international coalition southeast of Mosul.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The international coalition aircrafts launched, Thursday evening, airstrikes targeted an ISIS gathering that included the organization’s leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, as well as a number of its leading figures in Salamia district southeast of the city of Mosul.”
The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, added, “There are reports about the injury of al-Baghdadi and a number of ISIS prominent senior leaders because of these strikes.”

It is noteworthy that the city of Mosul have been under the control of the ISIS organization since June 10, 2014. It suffers from a major security and humanitarian crisis because the organization seeks to impose its “extreme vision” on all aspects of life in the city.
