US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller and representatives of other permanent members of the UN Security Council, or P5, including Russia, will discuss nuclear disarmament in Paris on July 10-11, 2015, the US Department of State announced in a release.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Following her trip to France, Gottemoeller will visit Slovenia to discuss issues concerning NATO and the region with the country’s officials.

“Gottemoeller will visit Paris, France to meet with her British, Chinese, French and Russian counterparts to discuss the P5 agenda in the wake of the 2015 Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference, and prepare for the 2016 P5 Conference hosted by France,” the release said on Thursday.
In April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the United States had breached the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty by placing its tactical nuclear weapons in the territories of five European countries.
According to SIPRI, in Russia the number of nuclear warheads currently stands at 7,500 as opposed to 8,000 a year ago. Over the same period of time, the United States decreased the number of nuclear weapons in its possession from 7,300 to 7,260.
