    [rtl]BAGHDAD / Obelisk: Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Thursday January 21, 2016, the direction of his country to stop supporting essential items such as fuel, water and electricity, and raise their prices to cope with the drop in oil prices, as quoted by local media.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Oil has lost more than three-quarters of its price since mid-2014, although it contributes about 94% of the Kuwaiti government revenues. And it dropped the price of a barrel of Kuwaiti oil to only $ 19.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Newspaper 'opinion' reported Prince say 'on the government to stop support and increase the fuel, electricity and water rates (...) must be a citizen to feel the responsibility to contribute to the State budget', and that during a meeting Wednesday, Minister of Information and editors of local newspapers.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Sabah Al-Ahmad attributed the direction his country to raise prices by saying 'in light of the large declines in oil prices and falling incomes of oil-producing countries, including Kuwait, we are required to begin processors and economic steps and programs aimed at rationalization and reduction of budget lines to address the lack of financial resources of the state with confirmation to maintain a decent life for citizens and not compromising the basic living their requirements'.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Kuwait is the only Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) that have not yet fuel and electricity prices raise, though it canceled last year to support diesel and kerosene prices, in light of the decline in oil prices since mid-2014.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Previously to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain that canceled in whole or in fuel and energy prices increased support, to provide billions of dollars after the decline in revenues from oil, which is the main source of revenues.[/rtl]
