{Baghdad: Euphrates News} examined the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali of Jordan with Iraq's ambassador in Amman, Safiya al-Suhail between the two countries to promote economic cooperation in various fields especially trade and investment, including the importance of reopening the Trebil border crossing.
The minister stressed during a meeting with Ambassador on Saturday the importance of reopening the Trebil border crossing, which was closed in July of last year.
She said Suhail that the Iraqi government attaches great importance to re-open the Trebil border crossing because of its strategic importance the Iraqi and Jordanian sides and that the closure of the Trebil border crossing was for security reasons and that it considering finding alternative ways inside Iraqi territory to ensure the flow of commercial traffic.
during the meeting, the joint trade Committee meeting in the coming period in Oman, which is headed by Minister of Industry and trade and Supply on the Jordanian side and the Minister of trade for the Iraqi side to discuss the payment of trade relations between the two countries, under the trade agreement Free signed between the two countries in 2009.
it is said that the trade volume between the two countries more than 800 million dinars during the 2014 year, but he has seen a significant drop during the year 2015 due to the closure of the border crossing, as Iraqi beneficiaries of the investment law, investments amounted to over 400 million JD in addition to 220 million dinars in public shareholding companies.
