BAGHDAD
/ NINA / A member of the parliamentary Finance Committee, Najiba Najib
called the (Shora Council) to speed sending the new banking law in order
to pass it in the House of Representatives.

MP, of the Kurdistan
Alliance said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /
that the new law of the banks and the CBI supports the independence of
the bank and devotes separate administration for the capital of all
government and private banks, noting that the law will also allow the
banks to direct investment and to engage in other commercial activities
after that was forbidden.

She noted that this process comes to
support all banks to take their role in economic development as well as
the development of the Iraqi financial sector in general.

She
said the last meeting with specialists held in Amman discussed all of
these things and it was reached to a unified vision on the need to pass
this law as soon as possible for its importance at this stage that Iraq
is going through.

The Central Bank of Iraqi had raised a new
banking bill to both Shora council and House of Representatives last
year for discussion and approval. / End
