Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, expressed his deep concerns towards the events in Hawija, emphasizing necessity to reaching settlement for the crisis of the citizens there and ending the military besiege situation.
A statement by the IS received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) mentioned that “Allawi stressed importance of respecting rights of demonstrators granted by constitution and keeping the peaceful aspect of demonstrations through preventing extremists from joining demonstrators.”
The statement confirmed that “Allawi sent a delegation, comprising IS members from Kirkuk province, to inspect the situation of the citizens in Hawija.”
Allawi urged the Iraqi Government ad Iraqi Security Forces to deal respectfully with demonstrators and reach a settlement for the crisis.
Allawi, according to the statement, stressed necessity of “the UN’s interference to avoid continuing the besiege which will cause humanitarian crisis and violation or human rights.”

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The head of the Iraqiya Slate Aiyad Alawi refused the resignation of the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, stressing “I commissioned Mutleg to follow up Hawija crisis with the government and consider the implementation of the demonstrators’ demands within three weeks as maximum limit.”
Alawi said in a speech forwarded to the Iraqi people over the clashes happening in Hawija district of Kirkuk province “We call the Iraqi government to practice restraint and not to harm the peaceful demonstrators and urgently adopt a dialogue.”
He also called on “the security forces to avoid interfering in the political issues and devote their job in protecting the Iraqis instead of using force against them.”
He pointed out “We decided to reject Mutleg’s resignation, and we commissioned him to address the files of Hawija violent events with the government in no more than three weeks.”
“Mutleg was also commissioned to monitor the political balance at the state departments,” he added noting “If there will be no progress in addressing these files after the end of the deadline, then the Iraqiya Slate will quit from the government and maybe from the entire political process.”
