‘Opposite of What They Say in Private’: Kasich Strategist Levels Accusation Against Cruz

A top strategist for John Kasich turned to Twitter Friday to make an accusation against the Ted Cruz campaign.
Strategist John Weaver alleged that the Texas senator’s campaign had been “disingenuous” denying speculation that it had talked with the Kasich campaign about working together to deny Donald Trump the necessary 1,237 delegates needed to secure the Republican nomination.
Cruz has repeatedly said that he would like to win the nomination outright. However, in a series of tweets Weaver said the Cruz camp knows the “only path to nomination for Cruz or us is through an open convention.”
Weaver said that the Cruz camp had “reached out to us” and called Cruz’s public rhetoric against Kasich “underhanded.” The strategist added that it was “opposite of what they say in private.”
A representative for the Cruz campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheBlaze Friday night.
