Rubio Quashes Trump VP Rumors With Scathing Statement — ‘My Previously Stated Reservations…Remain Unchanged’
May. 9, 2016 4:39pm Leigh Munsil

Marco Rubio today weighed in on rumors that he might be asked to be likely 2016 nominee Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate — saying definitively that he doesn’t want the job.
“While Republican voters have chosen Donald Trump as the presumptive GOP nominee, my previously stated reservations about his campaign and concerns with many of his policies remain unchanged,” Rubio said in a statement.
“He will be best served by a running mate and by surrogates who fully embrace his campaign,” said Rubio, who dropped out of the Republican presidential race after losing his home state of Florida to Trump in March.
Read the full statement, which Rubio posted on Facebook:

While Republican voters have chosen Donald Trump as the presumptive GOP nominee, my previously stated reservations about his campaign and concerns with many of his policies remain unchanged. He will be best served by a running mate and by surrogates who fully embrace his campaign. As such, I have never sought, will not seek and do not want to be considered for Vice President. Instead, I will focus my attention on representing the people of Florida, retaining a conservative majority in the Senate and electing principled conservatives across the country.
