    Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was asked on Thursday how he’s respond to a “President Trump” if asked to draft legislation to ban Muslims from entering the United States, as Trump has called for multiple times throughout the Republican primary.

    McConnell, who has said that he will vote for the presumptive GOP nominee even though he doesn’t agree with everything Trump says or does, told CNN’s Jake Tapper that he’d refuse to draft such legislation.

    “I’d say no. I think that’s a really bad idea,” McConnell told Tapper.

    “Most Muslim Americans are patriotic. There are great sources for potential radicals inside our country and if you ban all Muslims from coming into the United States, the King of Jordan who is a great ally of ours, wouldn’t be able to come to the United States,” McConnell added.

    “That’s a bad idea and should not be pursued,” he concluded
