[ltr]UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said it was "horrified" as a result of the mortar attack on the peace camp, or what is known as the hospice camp south of Baghdad, which includes the families displaced from Ramadi and where he was scheduled tomorrow, the return of 50 families to the city.[/ltr]
[ltr]A statement issued by the commission received / balances News / copy, "signed another attack on displaced families peace camp (also known as hospice) camp, located to the south of Baghdad, and that earlier in the day lost three mortar shells were fired at the camp, one of them fell into the middle of the camp, while two other two shells landed in the market area. the attack resulted in the injury of four children, was taken to hospital for treatment. [ltr]This is the third attack on the camp, the attack, which occurred on July 5 killed four people claimed, including two children.[/ltr]
[ltr]The statement quoted Bruno Guido, UNHCR representative in Iraq, saying "We are appalled to hear the news of this cowardly attack on a camp for displaced families, which caused the injury of several children were injured."[/ltr]
[ltr]"We strongly condemn this attack - the third attack is located within the past three months," stressing that displaced Iraqis who arrived here were already fleeing conflict and violence, they are considered the camp a safe place where they feel they and their families and protection. "[/ltr]
[ltr]He stressed that "we intend to meet with the camp authorities and Iraqi security forces to discuss ways to secure the camp."[/ltr]
[ltr]UNHCR is working in the peace camp, the largest camp for displaced people in Baghdad, with its partners (including rescue and humanitarian organization and the Iraqi Organization of the Islamic Aid Foundation Mortaqa and the Organization of the Canadian aid for the rehabilitation of Iraqi society) to provide shelters suitable for families who fled from the provinces of Salaheddin, Anbar in the years 2014 and 2015 also opened a small bakery as a livelihood, in addition to organizing cleaning campaigns in the camp and other quick-impact projects.[/ltr]
[ltr]Since Eid al-Fitr, she left the camp, 480 families to return to their original homes in Ramadi, and still another 720 families (4.320 people) are staying in place.[/ltr]
