7:16 AM ADMIN
Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Nineveh provincial MP Nahla al-Hibabi disclosed that a project is under
preparation to divide the province into eight administratively separate provinces to be divided between Baghdad and Arbil.
She stressed that Kurdish politicians support this project and "try to implement it".
MP Hibabi added that the Iraqi cabinet approved transforming Telafar, Halabcha and Touzkhormatoo into provinces that will be under Baghdad's control.
The new transformation shall be made after the availability of economic funds and enough number of populations.
"These decisions contradict the project of the Kurdish President Masoud Barzani to divide Nineveh into eight provinces", she pointed out.
The project includes forming eight administratively independent provinces in Mosul, Qayara, Makhmour, Hatra, Ba'aj, Sinjar, Telafar, Nineveh Plateau, Halabcha and Touzkhormatoo.
