    Local and international participation launched marathon Baghdad on Saturday , which seemed on track from the beginning of theAbu Nawas Street and finishes near the suspension bridge to mark International Peace Day, the marathon, according to its organizers intended to renounce violence and extremism through sport. 
    (Ahmed Alaa) coordinator Marathon Baghdad Peace said in Speaking (range) that " the idea was launched in 2009 by a group of Iraqi and international activists were Tturkzaaly how touse sport as a tool for community - based anti - violence and build the foundations of peace in the country, but unfortunately did not apply because of thesecurity situation in Baghdad , " 
    he added , "during the past years was Marathon peace is held in the Kurdistan region, but over the past year we were able to achieve in Baghdad along the 21 km efforts of youth and civil society organizations , " 
    he said Alaa said" our effectiveness for this year has seen the quality of transmission , in terms of the number of runners or through the participation of women in this area has recorded nearly 150 women participate out of 1200 rider while last year the number of posts only 3 only and these numbers make us feel joy, and there were 18 winners distributors on the number of distances traveled by the contestants " 
    marathon , which is a participation in the activities of the Iraqi social Forum , which was launched on 21 activities / September is the International day of Asalamk. 
    say (to the owner) , coordinator of the Iraqi social Forum in his speech (range) , "witnessed the activities of the Iraqi social Forum in his third season , which began a few days ago several events, including theorganization of Marathon Baghdad for peace for the second consecutive year in coordination with thecampaign Sports against violence, and this campaign is organized during which many of the sports and social awareness and cultural activities, including marathon Baghdad for peace , which aims to spread the culture ofpeace through sport " 
    from the preparation of such so effective hand stretches a long distance in the streets of Baghdad shows ( the owner) that" Baghdad Municipality has provided great help in terms of getting security clearances or even logistical support in preparing for this event which entails get many approvals from many sides " 
    and said the " basic idea of the activities of the Forum is to find a common dialogue and exit certain byparticipants and unify the efforts of civil society and networking work in addition to the collection of the young and the laying of the spirit of peace and volunteer work in their minds . " 
    for his part , has said sports (Tigers Khalid) that he was pleased with the first participation in the marathon Baghdad, returned him to the civil image that transmits a new reality of Iraq, where he said that" themarathon included three jogging paths, the first course of 3 km for ordinary people with little fitness and the elderly, and the second track 9 km to the people Mediterranean fitness, in addition to the path of the 21 km of specialists and sprinters athletes, and the marathon this year underwent Arbitration on in accordance withinternational rules. " 
    He said the " full next violent environment of our society of terrorism and violence and domestic violence against women and a lot of types of violence 0-.mcharkta hold such events because it is a beautiful thing to be part of the global Almarznat map, and Baghdad has the right to organize so effective for peace " 
    He (Khalid) for joy to see these numbers from Almcharrkin saying that" women, children and young people 'sparticipation was featured this year in addition to the international participants from Italy, Norway and Tunisia, countries around the world who shared our joy in Baghdad and young people of Baghdad who they saw as anoutlet and civic image of the movement of a new reality in Iraq , " 
    The Baghdad has seen a variety of events to mark the world day of peace, including the Baghdad Dar Festival peace and concert musician Naseer Shamma and events social Forum , all of which aim to renounce violence and bring about a culture of peace among young people.
