[ltr]United Nations ringing alarm: Mosul has become more man-made disaster[/ltr]

Since 29/09/2016 22:57 pm (Baghdad time)
[ltr]Baghdad balances News[/ltr]
[ltr]The United Nations reported that more than a million people have been displaced from Mosul, a stronghold of the organization Daesh in Iraq, at the start of the Iraqi army attack on the city to recover it from the control of the organization, noting that it does not have the necessary facilities to host a "less than half that number."[/ltr]
[ltr]The director of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Bruno Guido in a press statement on Thursday, "The Battle of Mosul, is expected to start in October next and possibly by the end of 2016," he added, "it is expected to have the United Nations to help at least 700 thousand people with shelter and food and water, and UNHCR is building 11 camps equipped with lighting and water pipes and insufficient space of 20 thousand households, "according to news agency Reuters.[/ltr]
[ltr]He Guido "Things could deteriorate if the elements Daesh decided to fight the final battle and cause extensive destruction of the city or used civilians as human shields as they did in the battle of Fallujah last June."[/ltr]
[ltr]It is noteworthy that the Iraqi forces and the popular crowd and the Peshmerga are continuing their preparations for participation in the restoration of Mosul of al Daesh which has dominated it since 2014, with the support of the international airline alliance, which continues its raids against Daesh sites in the province of Nineveh.[/ltr]
