Nechirvan, Massoud Barzani to visits Iran on Monday, Al-Waght news claims
Erbil: Al-Waght English website claims that Iraqi Kurdistan’s Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani will to visit Iran on Monday while his uncle Massoud Barzani is expected to visit Tehran one day later.  The Kurdistan authority had approved news on the visit earlier but refused to set a date. Last week, the spokesman for Iraq’s Kurdistan Region Presidency Omed Sabah said “To make it clear, we announce that the Kurdistan Region’s president has received an invitation by the Islamic Republic of Iran and he approved it. Just scheduling a date and time by the two sides is left.” The visit is important considering recent clashes between Iranian army and the Kurdish militant groups that keep shelter inside the Iraqi territory. The two sides are expected to negotiate and sign economic and security agreements during the visit. |
Mahmoud Othman: Barzani’s visit to Baghdad was late
Baghdad: The Kurdish leader and former MP Mahmoud Othman said that the current visit of Massoud Barzani to Baghdad even it was late, but it has opened a new page in the relationship between the center and the region, pointing to the need that the Kurds focused on Baghdad to solve their problems and the commitment of the federal government with the Region. He said in a televised statement that “what has been agreed upon in the meetings of Barzani with officials in Baghdad need to details and negotiations and we hope that the two sides up to the results to serve Iraq in general and the region in particular, especially in the economic side and late salaries.” |
