Buffalo Bills defense unable to stop Le’Veon Bell and the Steelers

Unable to stop the visiting Steelers running attack on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills were unable to mount a late game comeback as they dropped an ultra-important contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers by a final score of 27-20. With the scoreline, the immediate future of head coach Rex Ryan is now in doubt.

Beginning with the game itself, the Bills had a terrible time of it early on. Not only were they outgained throughout the contest, Buffalo managed a loss of six yards on offense during the first quarter. Though the Bills rebounded to score 20-points during the remaining three quarters, the offense was slow and seemed overly plain in their effort.
For comparison’s sake, the Steelers offense was the Superman Ice Cream of this contest while the Bills were just plain vanilla. While both were almost equal in the final total — much like the tastes of the two ice creams — the Steelers offense had much more spectacular results thanks to the run game of Pittsburgh.
With Rex Ryan’s job supposedly on the line if Buffalo looked bad or even just lost to the Steelers, the defense picked a wrong time to let their head coach down. With the Ryan Brothers being known as defensive masters, Steelers star running back Le’Veon Bell seemed unstoppable at times as he rushed for 236-yards and three touchdowns.
Despite this, the Bills were not out of this game for most of the contest. Continually fighting back when all hope seemed to be lost, the Bills managed to get the game to just a single touchdown just prior to the two-minute warning. However, following a Pittsburgh recovery on the ensuing onside kick and without any timeouts, the Bills had no chance as the Steelers kneeled down to run out the game clock.
Following the contest, all eyes will be focused on Orchard Park this Monday. With reports saying that Rex Ryan could be fired as early as Monday, this game could either be seen as the straw that broke the camel’s back, or as the game that kept Ryan in charge for at least one more week.
