    The
    Kuwaiti Journalists Association called on Wednesday, to respect the
    will of the Kurdish people on the decision of separation, there was a
    marked absence of Arabic in Kurdistan, stressed the need for
    rapprochement between Arabs and Kurds.

    Adnan, Director of the

    Tuesday (15 January 2013), Dahuk governorate, at the invitation of the
    Presidency of the Kurdistan region, a media tour to see the status of
    the territory.

    And the State of Kuwait's Ambassador to Iraq Ali,
    on January 14, 2013, Kuwait's relations with Iraq and Kurdistan in
    constant evolution, noting that openness in preliminary rulings, in a
    move that will lead to a qualitative leap in relations between the two
    countries.


    Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations have witnessed remarkable
    development lately, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq said on the Kuwaiti
    side felt seriously from the Iraqi Government to close the files between
    the two countries and that Kuwait plans to open consulates in the
    cities of Arbil and Basra, as well as the Embassy's offices in a number
    of provinces, under reciprocal visits of senior officials from both
    sides.

    Iraqi Kurdish leader eyes closer ties with Kuwait

    North Iraq, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- President of the Kurdistan Regional
    Government (KRG) Masoud Barzani the State of Kuwait and the Kurds enjoy a
    long history of friendship and cooperation.

    "In 2003 the leaders
    of Kurdistan region rejected the hostile comments made by the Iraqi
    government against Kuwait," Barzani said during his meeting with a
    Kuwaiti media delegation at Salaheddin resort here on Wednesday.

    Welcoming
    the delegation, the Kurdish leader said: "Your kind visit to your
    brothers here is a good initiative from a constellation of the Kuwaiti
    intelligentsia to see the achievements made in the region."

    He
    recalled that late Kurdish leader Mullah Mustafa Barzani stood by Kuwait
    in the 1960s when the first president of Iraq Abdulkarim Qasim (July
    1958 - February 1963) issued threats for Kuwait.

    He voiced hope
    that the friendly ties between Kuwait and Kurdistan will be further
    strengthened in the coming years thanks to his close relationship with
    His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (end)
