Failure of the Quantity of Money Theory - Mon 09 May 2016, 3:06 pm

QUESTION: Marty; Are you saying that Bill Gross is wrong and they will not try “helicopter money” again or that “helicopter money” will not stimulate the economy?

Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Fed-Excess-Reserves-1024x549ANSWER:
Whether or not the Fed tries to apply “helicopter money” is highly debatable. Bill Gross DID NOT make a forecast that any QE (Quantitative Easing) would be successful or create inflation. All he said was that the Feds will print money trying to “stimulate” again as they did in the past buying bonds which he will eagerly sell to them. So I do not see where this is a right or wrong confrontation. He did not say “helicopter money” would succeed. He just said they would try it again. So where is the disagreement with respect to inflation? As far as the Fed even attempting another QE program is debatable. They realize that it did not work and it foolishly created the Excess Reserve Facility which allowed banks to park (hoard) money at the Fed which defeated the “stimulus” purpose because the money never made it into the economy to increase consumer spending. So the only quasi-disagreement at best is simply I am saying that the Fed realizes now that QE failed. They can see Japan and Europe. If those central banks raise rates, they will create panics because the idiot pundits convinced themselves that lower rates (even negative) are good for stock markets and economy while higher rates are evil. The central banks are trapped and this cannot end nicely.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Fed-Velocity-of-Money-May-1-2016-1024x569Additionally, a number of questions seem to be amazed that a raw theory of the Quantity of Money does not work. They are stunned that I have shown velocity which has been in crash-mode since 1998. They were shocked that the Fed’s Excess Reserve Facility is proof of banks hoarding cash. People hoard money in times of uncertainty, and the data now shows that Americans are saving more and spending less. Their savings (hoarding) reached a 3-year record high in December 2015. This continued to cause the declining Velocity. Then we have banks parking (hoarding) cash at the Fed, corporates cash rich (hoarding) are buying back their own shares, and we have European banks shipping money to the States also parking (hoarding) cash at the Fed collecting 0.25% against negative rates at the ECB.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 IBEUUS-Y-TEK-TO-2020-1-22-2016The question is merely whether the Fed would do another QE because people “think” that is necessary despite the fact there is no empirical evidence this has ever worked. The Euro peaked in 2008 and crashed. The capital flows turned into the USA despite the introduction of increasing the money supply by QE. So while the central bankers expected inflation and the Gold Promoters misrepresent this issue claiming that increasing the supply of money is automatically inflationary so gold must rise and the dollar fall, exactly the opposite has unfolded. So the Gold Promoters are preaching the same story as the central bankers. As the economic crisis became worse around the world, the dollar was (and remains) the only currency standing. The Fed has become the de facto central bank of the world yet the money supply increased. You cannot dismiss this and keep touting that the Quantity of Money still is relevant or that it works. Something is seriously missing. If such a theory is valid, then it MUST hold up 100% of the time. It is not the pure Quantity of Money that matters, there is another factor here being ignored – DEMAND; as in supply demand. Naturally, the Gold Promoters will say I am wrong because this is their #1 sales pitch. What they do not understand is you can fool people sometimes, but only a fool believes a fallacy eternally. The rest get burnt and they never come back because they lost confidence in the sales pitch. Gold is a HEDGE AGAINST GOVERNMENT, and to create a bull market requires the decline in DEMAND for dollars because they lost CONFIDENCE in government. Only when government is unable to then sell its debt or raise taxes, then it prints money like Germany to cover its expenses and it debases the currency stretching what resources it has to increase the supply of money to pay its bills when coins were a precious metal. There is simply more to this simplistic view that increasing the supply of money automatically produces inflation. The central banks have followed the very same theory as the Gold Promoters and also failed miserably.

Let me make this very clear; our study of the Quantity of Money extends back into ancient times and it is NOT based upon my “opinion” so if you want to argue, please show the data correlation that explains the failure of QE with the survival of the theory of the Quantity of Money. You cannot just say you “think” or express your “opinion” to have any serious consideration in the real world. This is why we reconstructed the world economy using the coinage from all countries. Before the 1663, dies used to impress images on coins were created by hand and are unique and the coinage was hammered rather than machine pressed and milled. This has allowed us to catalogue the number of known dies and then apply the average number of coins that can be struck from a die before it breaks – 15,000. We even collected ancient dies for study. This method allowed us to recreate the money supply on an annual basis. All of this research has enabled us to see the Quantity of Money produced on an annual basis and to test economic theories not guess about them or accept the ones that support a predetermined political view. To understand how things TRULY function, you MUST just let the data speak for itself. Then you can learn the truth rather than political or self-interest propaganda.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 InvisibleHand-2You cannot simply come up with theories and support them on “belief” and “opinion” for that just does not cut it in real science. Physics you must prove a theory. They hand out Nobel prizes in economics if they sound nice or to people who lack the back-testing as was the case with BlackScholes theory which they won the Nobel Prize and then completely failed. So if I am going to make a statement, it is based upon real back-testing. This is NOT my personal opinion. So no worries. They would NEVER give me the Nobel Prize in economics because it proves Marx was wrong and that means government cannot function as it does or have politicians running for office promising to change something they cannot control nor do they understand. They only hand out Nobel Prize in economics to people who support the status-quo. The “establishment” has always been about manipulating the Invisible Hand of Adam Smith because they do not like being the subject of free market movements.
Perhaps the day will come when someone will plagiarize this work, call it their own, and pretend this is their theory without ever having to collect coins to actually do the work. That too is the way it always goes. Francis Hutcheson, the teacher of Adam Smith, I believe plagiarized Xenophon copying his book Oikonomikos from the 4th century BC which was a how to manage your estate for dummies. Hutchenson called his Book III “The Principles of Oeconomics and Politics” giving birth to the word “economics” which was Greek in origin “Oikonomikos” stemming from the compounded form of oikos meaning “household” and the complex root nem– meaning in this context to “regulate,” “administer” or “control.” So this will no doubt show up one day in the same manner. Outside of physics, there is no ethics in economics.

As far as the Quantity of Money and inflation is concerned, there is ABSOLUTELY no empirical evidence whatsoever which supports that the two are linked in some perfect union always producing the same result. Throughout the Roman Empire, the annual budge was funded by 80% taxes and 20% expansion of the money supply. As the empire expanded bringing in new regions, the bottom-line impact was identical to an increase in population. If the money supply does not increase keeping pace with population growth, then you produce deflation since there is less money per person causing money to rise in purchasing power resulting in the price of goods, services and labor to decline in terms of money (whatever that might be). To reconstruct the money supply required recording the number of known dies of the coinage for every year given they were all hand crafted with subtle differences. Experiments prove that about 15,000 coins were able to be produced from a die on average before it cracked. Hence, reconstructing the new money supply produced each year is a definable FACT (see above chart 157-50BC).
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 AesRude-1I am not asserting opinion here. We can easily determine the money supply and the expansion of the money supply as well as inflation throughout the course of the Roman Empire. This clearly demonstrates that the modern theory of the Quantity of Money alone is immature and lacks depth no less historical back-testing. This is why everyone from the Gold Promoters to Central Banks who all rely on this theory have been wrong. Make no mistake about it. The QE program which has failed is based on this theory which is also used to promote gold sales. They are both in the same camp.
Much of the records have survived as have the accounts of many contemporary historians. We even have the records as to the pay of a soldier and pensions over time. The term “stipend” comes from the Latin Stipendium, meaning a pension or pay, from  stipem  (meaning contribution,  dues,  income,  tax,  tribute) and pendo (meaning hang, weigh or pay). Prior to the introduction of silver coins in Rome during 280BC, the money in use was bronze paid by weight and is known as Aes Rude because it traded in lumps, as shown here. This is why we have the merger of income and weight to create the word Stipendium.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Roman-Silver-Coinage-Introduced-280BC-first-denarius-211BCThere was no pay for a Roman solider prior to 405BC. The Senate appears to have approved pay for the military at that time. According to the historian Livy, the Roman Senate began the practice of giving pay to the Roman soldiers (stipendium) on the occasion of the taking of Tarracina which was a town 35 miles south of Rome. Livy tells us the change was spontaneous and unsolicited act of the senate, but from another passage we are told that in the year 421 BC, the Tribunes had proposed that the occupiers of the public land should pay their property tax regularly, and that it should be devoted to the payment of the troops (Titi Livi Ab Vrbe Condita Liber IV. 36).
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Bonus-Army-Newspaper-AccountNo doubt, like the USA which failed to respect the veterans from World War I and attacked the Bonus Army asking for money, we see this similar action in the Roman context. The USA threatened with World War II was compelled to pass the GI Bill because of their harsh treatment of the vets from World War I. Here in Roman times, there appears to have been a proposal in 421BC to pay the troops, but it too waits until there is the treat of another war in 405BC, 16 years later. This became urgent for Tarracina revolted, which had been under Roman rule for some time. Rome needed a paid army to retain its power. The prospect of losing Tarracina was rather serious enough to prompt paying the troops for if their revolt had been successful, like the BREXIT referrendum in June 2016, the fear is the empire would fail. Indeed, Rome would later face the prospect of another war with Veii which came in 396BC. This was about securing all of Italy.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 AU-Stater-225-212BCLate in 218 B.C., the Carthaginians again defeated the Romans on the left bank of the Trebia River, a victory that earned Hannibal the support of allies including the Gauls and Ligurians. By the spring of 217 B.C., he had advanced to the Arno River in Italy. It was the invasion of Italy by Hannibal which prompts the first issue of Roman gold coins. The obverse is the Roman god Janus (for whom January is named), and the reverse depicts an oath scene of allegiance. Rome issued gold coins to demonstrate to the other Roman cities that Rome was rich and that they should not abandon them for Hannibal. This gold issue was clearly a political display of wealth. A stater in the Greek world equaled 20 drachms. The weight was idealized at 8 grams of gold with a silver drachm being 4 grams making the silver to gold ratio about 10:1. However, in practical terms, the ratio was closer to 8.6 since the silver drachms were really about 3.2 grams.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Roman-ArmyKnowing the weight of coinage is one thing. We then must also have some reference point with respect to its purchasing power within society. Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Athens-Tetradrams-New-Style-16.85g-166-156BCAccording to the Greek historian Polybius (c. 200 – c. 118 BC), the daily pay of a legionary amounted to two oboli. However, he makes a Greek drachma equivalent to a Roman denarius, and a denarius in paying the soldiers was then estimated at ten bronze asses. The Greek tetradrachm (4 drachms) was 16.85 grams making a drachm/denarius about 4.25 grams. However, this was a gross salary and Roman soldiers, since what was deducted from their gross pay was the money value of whatever they received in kind such as food (corn), armor and clothes.

There was a sharp increase in money supply as illustrated above between 97 and 87BC. We then find a very sharp decline in new money coming into the economy. This prompted a serious debt crisis prior to the First Civil War. In fact, corruption was so outrageous it was similar as we see Goldman Sachs donating tons of money to politicians to buy favor that even Obama says he can now make serious money doing speaking engagements for Goldman at the 2016 White House Correspondent’s Dinner. The corruption buying votes sent interest rates soaring for the elections. During the Roman Republic, the corruption was so widespread, that interest rates doubled from 4% to 8% for the elections of 54 BC because there was so much bribery going on to gain votes. There was a very serious shortage of money resulting in a deflationary wave. People could not pay their debts because money was scarce. This was the state of the economy going into the breach of the First Civil War prompting Caesar to cross the Rubicon. We have the coinage record as well as historical accounts.Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Sulla-Aureus
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 RomanAS-Decline289-90The bronze coinage of the Roman Republic collapsed in weight and was used in terms of accounting only, but virtually no bronze coinage was even being minted. C. Coota complained in 75BC that there was no money (Sallust, Hist. ii, 47M, 6-7; cf. 46M), which is confirmed by a letter from Pompey the Great from Spain (Hist. ii, 98M, 2 and 9). Clearly, people were hoarding money despite the sharp increase in coinage which had taken place going into 87BC, because of the fear of the future. The population had expanded but the money supply did not keep pace producing deflation. There was the First Mithridatic War (88–84 BC) when the legions were commanded by Lucius Cornelius Sulla. We see the issue of Roman gold aureus at this time issued 84-83BC with a weight of 10.78 grams making the silver/gold ratio its lowest point at 6.9:1 demonstrating the rising abundance of gold as Rome moved East. The war ended with a Roman victory, and the Treaty of Dardanos in 85 BC, but the Second Mithridatic War (83–81 BC) broke out which ended inconclusively after a Roman defeat, and withdrawal on Sulla’s orders. This uncertainty would Rome survive contributed to the hoarding.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Mithradates-VI-AU-StaterThe Senate seems to have known about the rising threat from Mithridates VI (135–63 BC) who was perhaps the Republic’s greatest foe at this time since in 78BC they appropriated 18 million denarii to pay for the military. They sent a Quaestor to Cyrene to raise cash since that was a Roman property from 96BC. All accounts show there was a wave of deflation despite the rise in coinage production into 87BC (money supply like QE today). This was followed by the Third Mithridatic War (75–63 BC) commanded by Lucius Licinius Lucullus (75–66 BC) and then by Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus (“Pompey the Great”, 66–63 BC), where Rome was finally victorious and Mithridates VI died in 63 BC.
During the 70s BC, the prospect of war led the people to hoard money despite the fact that the money supply increased sharply to pay the troops. There was no government bonds. They issued coinage to cover expenses. There was not enough money to pay the troops as recorded in a speech of Pompey in 59BC (Cassius Dio XXXVIII, 5, 1). Money was being produced in large quantities, but it was being hoarded thanks to uncertainty. Rome was expanding, but it was not yet in possession of Europe or Asia. To fight the pirates dominating the Mediterranean Sea, the Senate appropriated 36 million denarii (Appian, Mith. 430; cf. Plutarch, 25).
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Julius-Caesar-Gold-Crisis-46-45BCThere was a tremendous wave of inflation that is not reflected in the silver coinage, but in the gold coinage. The first gold aureus to be minted in Rome itself was that produced by Julius Caesar. The previous issues of gold were struck in the provinces by Sulla to pay troops. The gold inflation wave, much akin to the California gold rush of the 19th century and the Spanish flooding Europe with gold from the New World, has its parallel also at this point in history. The gold inflation wave was created by Julius Caesar’s four victories over Gaul, Egypt, Pharnaces, and Africa, resulting in Rome being flooded with gold. The Roman economy was overwhelmed by gold driving its value of down sharply for it became commonplace. The historian Appianus tells us that Caesar brought back 65,000 talents of gold (talent = 32.3 kilograms (71 lb)) which would have been about 262,437 gold aureii. Additionally 2,822 golden wreaths weighing 20,414 pounds, were carried along the triumphal procession. Caesar gave out an enormous amount of money in gold to both his army and the population of Rome. He paid out the equivalent of 400 sestertii to each and ever citizen or 200 silver denarii equivalent to 4 gold aureii (there was no issue of bronze sestertii to account for the payments). To his troops, he gave them 20,000 sesterii or 5,000 silver denarii which equalled 200 gold aureii. Since these payments were made in gold, they were measured in sestertii (unit of account) but again no such bronze coinage was produced in that denomination. Instead, we have this enormous gold issue. There are 111 known obverse dies from the issue of 46BC and 122 dies of the reverse. This would account for 1,830,000 gold aureii being struck that from that issue alone. This enormous issue of gold aureii caused a collapse in the value of gold.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Via-Sacra-Roman-Forum-Ancient-Wall-StreetThe enormous gold coinage of Julius Caesar in 46-45BC flooded the money supply with the yellow metal and produced a violent disturbance in the monetary system as the silver/gold ratio had risen from its low under Sulla (6.9:1) rising to 12.5:1 and then collapsing again back to 9:1 in about 31 years (Pi Cycle). This contributed to the debt crisis insofar as loans had been in terms of denarii, not gold aureii. This clearly sent the financial market into chaos down the Via Sacra, the Wall Street of its day. Creditors had been demanding repayment in denarii, which was obviously at a premium to gold.

After the Second Civil War where Octavian (Augustus) defeats Marc Antony and Cleopatra, some of the aurei of Augustus (27BC-14AD) were struck at the reduced rate of 42 to the pound whereas Caesar struck the aureus at 40 to the pound (8 grams). The weight was further reduced by Nero (54-68AD) who struck the aureus at 45 to the pound (7.3 grams). Marcus Aurelius (161–180AD) struck aurei at 50 to the pound (6.5 grams), and by the time of Caracalla (211–217AD) he introduced double denominations that were only about 50% greater in weight.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Tacitus-275-276AD-Double-aureus-aureusDuring the 3rd century, the gold aureus was reduced sharply during the financial meltdown of 260-268AD and after that crisis the coin stabilized at 4.5 grams. However, double aureii were struck regularly weighing only 6.62 grams on average or about 50% greater in weight yet were twice the value showing it was not the metal content that determined the purchasing power. The monetary reform of Diocletian (284–305AD) around 301 AD, struck the solidus at 60 to the Roman pound (and thus weighing about 5.5 grams each) and with an initial value equal to 1,000 denarii, which had been reduced to bronze. The gold solidus was reintroduced by Constantine I (306–337AD) in 312 AD after he confiscated the wealth of the pagan temples. This denomination now permanently replaced the aureus as the gold coin of the Roman Empire. The solidus was struck at a rate of 72 to a Roman pound of pure gold, each coin weighing about 4.5 grams of gold. By this time, the solidus was worth 275,000 of the increasingly debased bronze denarii (once silver).

Where the silver was debased, the gold was reduced in weight. Julius Caesar doubled the salary for the legionary soldier according to Suetonius prior to the civil war (Sueton. Jul. Caes. 26). After the Civil War and Augustus defeats Marc Antony, Suetonius tells us that Augustus appears to have raised the military pay to 10 asses a day (three times the original sum), or 300 a month, or 1200 in four months.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Marc-Antony-Legionary-denariusWe even know how many legions Marc Antony and Cleopatra had in the battle against Octavian. Antony issued a denarius for each legion. At the time of Julius Caesar, a denarius was ideally 4 grams. The legionary denarii of Marc Antony weight about 3.8 grams. So we do not see any massive debasement given there were two civil wars back to back despite the fact that the money supply rose significantly to pay the troops.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Romane-Imperial-Debasement-1024x660Here is the chart of the debasement of the Roman silver denarius. Note that the debasement begins with Nero (54-68AD). The reason for this was largely to cover the cost of government, which included the military.
Now as the original amount of a solider’s pay had been tripled, the soldiers could not complain if the denarius were reckoned at 16 asses (bronze) in payments made to themselves, as well as other persons; and taking this value, the 1200 asses amount to exactly 3 aurei, or 3 × 400 asses. This sum then was considered as an unit, and called stipendium, being paid three times a year. Hence Suetonius says of Domitian raised the soldier’s pay (Dom. 7): “Addidit et quartum stipendium, ternos aureos”: a fact which Zonaras confirms (Ann. II. p196) otherwise expresses by stating, that instead of 75 drachmae (i.e. denarii) Domitian gave the soldiers 100, i.e. he made a pay raise of 25 denarii or 1 aureus to their pay.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 DWN-Pension-CrisisPutting together the history of the world monetary system reveals that there is ABSOLUTELY no support for the idea that “helicopter money” creates inflation nor is it the cause of the decline and fall of a nation. That becomes the net result of a collapse in confidence FIRST whereas people then hoard money and do not spend it. The economy turns down and tax revenue also declines. Rome’s budget was effectively 80% taxes and 20% creating new money. As confidence collapsed, there was less and less to tax. People saved (hoarded) rather than spent and in the process the economy shrinks. This comes SECOND comes the “helicopter money” which emerges as tax revenues collapse. We will see this in the years ahead as social programs are cut and we see state and local government go bust. The ONLY source of funding becomes the creation of money. When government becomes strapped and can no longer sell their debt today, then the implosion unfolds. This is being furthered by central banks buying government debt which they can never resell. Then the entire system implodes.
There is a growing concern that the central bank is out of ammunition both in lowering interest rates as well as QE printing money. While many people will say I am wrong or whatever, they do not speak directly to people in central banks or to staff on the House Banking Committee – I do! Central Banks have even attended our World Economic Conferences. In fact, the Commission designing the Euro attended our 1997 Conference in London and took the entire back row. So I do not speak out of total speculation.
Right now, even in Germany, the Bundesbank is departing from the policies of the ECB and Draghi. The negative interest rates are becoming widely seen as undermining pensions. Here is the front cover of a German magazine warning that pension funds are broke thanks to negative interest rates.
I would NOT put it as 100% guaranteed that the Fed will engage in “helicopter money” buying government bonds. They are trapped. They know that. They may have no choice in the end, but that would be if government finds it cannot sell its debt. Do not expect the Fed to be the first to fall. They will be the LAST. We have the data. We have run the correlations. If someone wants to disagree, then ask for their data – not opinion or “I think” scenarios based upon assumptions and bias.

37 Foods to Store: Essential Foods For Any Disaster

Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 143
Everyday food storage is an important topic! The more people who prep, the safer we all are, which is why we’re giving away information for free.
Looking for a magic list of grocery store survival food? Wondering what are the best canned foods for prepping? Take stock of the 37 most important shelf-stable goods to buy from the grocery store while they are still available.  Here’s the emergency preparedness information you need — a free guide:
Prepper’s list of 37 Foods To Hoard Before Crisis
This is the best of prepper food lists (survival stockpiling of shelf-stable foods):
#1: Distilled water and seltzer water.
Water isn’t a food to hoard, but you certainly can’t live without it, which is why water is #1 on the list. Distilled water is the most pure form of water. Get water now and make plans to get more water. Consider adding canned seltzer water to your pantry as well. Canned seltzer water lasts indefinitely, adds a fizzy pep to your water supply and even helps relieve constipation! Avoid seltzer if you have acid reflex.

  • Want to know the #1 food to hoard? Skip to #6.

#2: Canned liquids.
It’s important to stock up on canned foods with high liquid content. Two excellent (and often overlooked) examples are canned pineapple juice and vegetable juice available on the bottom shelves of your grocery store. These foods will provide nutrition and hydration simultaneously. Look also for evaporated milk, condensed milk, and canned coconut milk. Coconut milk will help you cook rice faster! Stewed tomatoes, and vegetable, beef or chicken stock can also help you cook rice without depleting your drinking water. It’s also a great excuse to stock up on canned beer, which you can use to cook!
#3: Dehydrated (powdered) milk.
Milk does a body good (or so say the commercials). Indeed milk is a versatile food well worth stockpiling if you don’t have a cow or a goat. Bob’s Red Mill dehydrated milk lasts, pictured right, up to two years, and is an excellent natural creamer for coffee. Skip the non-dairy creamers made of hydrogenated oils and use powdered milk instead.
#4: Hard cheeses encased in wax.
Waxed hard cheeses are not so easy to find, but they are available. Parmesan, swiss, sharp cheddar or Gouda encased in wax is a very “Gouda” thing to find! Wax prevents cheese from growing mold and bacteria, and it also keeps moisture in your cheese, so it can store for a very long time without refrigeration. Parmesan is a hard cheese, and in the powder form has a four month expiration date, but encased in wax it can last up to 25 years! Consider buying cheese wax and even a basic hard cheese kit to make your own delicious cheeses. Wax will keep hard cheeses moist during the aging process, and also prevent unwanted mold growth on your aging cheeses.
#5: Protein bars and protein drinks (Whey Powder or protein concentrate).
You know that Little Miss Muffet ate her curds and whey, and so should you. In cheese making, curds are the thick part of the milk that’s separated from the liquid when the milk turns sour. Whey is the watery part that’s cloudy and yellowish. Whey is highly nutritious! Bob’s Red Mill offers an all natural whey protein concentrate. Whey contains a high quality complete protein containing all of the essential amino acids required by the body for strength and muscle development. It is a great way of increasing protein intake without adding excessive carbohydrates and fat. It dissolves instantly so it ‘s great for making high protein shakes and smoothies. In survival times, mix it with dehydrated milk for an extra frothy and satisfying nutrient! So while this isn’t the first thing that will fly off the shelves in the event of a crisis, it’s one Happy Preppers
should have on their list.

#6: Canned & dehydrated meats.
What’s the #1 food to hoard? Well, the best prepper protein source is meat. Go for the jerky! If you had to stockpile just one kind of food you’d want to stockpile meat in cans. Go ahead and Tune-in to the tuna. Stack up on the Dak! Why? Because meats provide humans with around 90% of sustenance needed to survive; and 90% of plants are deadly to humans. Man must eat meat! When possible, look for grass-fed meats, like Yoder’s brand. Canned salmon, canned sardines, canned mackerel and canned tuna are rich in necessary Omega 3 oils. Stock your refrigerator with meats too. Smoked salmon, sausages and hot dogs can last a long time in your refrigerator. Store organic hot dogs and sausages, such as Applegate Farms Uncured Beef Hot Dogs, which are made from organic, grass-fed beef. Consume them first in a power failure.
#7: Coffee, tea, Ovaltine, Tang and bouillon.
Coffee for survival purposes provides the primary benefit of increased mental alertness, but as a morale boost it’s good too. Tea for survival is important too, and has been around for 5,000+ years for a reason! Water quality of our ancestors wasn’t very good, so tea helped it taste better and boiling water killed bacteria. In an emergency situation, tea can help you hydrate quickly when you can’t wait for the boiled water to cool. Caffeinated teas provide a burst of additional energy; while other teas can provide a calming and soothing effect, which you may need. Additionally, many kinds of tea have anti-cancer properties (polyphenols), and reduce the risk of blood clotting and even lowers cholesterol levels. Consider adding echinacea, peppermint and chamomile teas to help combat the common cold, naturally, too!  Tang is a prepper classic to enhance the water supply. Bouillon cubes are compressed stock. This salty essential will help you flavor soups, rices, ramen style noodles and  gravies. Even if you don’t use coffee, tea or bouillon in your regular diet, consider securing them for your Prepper’s pantry for bartering!
#8: Oils.
You can’t cook much without oil! Buy oil small containers and look for the word “virgin” which means that they are the first press and have the most nutritive value.  Olive oil is an ideal oil, but can quickly go rancid, thought it may have a shelf life up to two years. Shortening usually has trans fats, so consider coconut oil as cooking lard to  replace Crisco or other vegetable shortening, which is made of dangerous trans fats. Coconut oil is very heat stable, and because it’s low to oxidize, it means that it won’t go rancid as quickly as other oils. It can last up to two years, and it provides fast energy.
Ghee, here’s something to consider:

  • Ghee. Ghee is butter that’s been melted and simmered down until all the water has evaporated and the milk solids have settled at the bottom. It has a long shelf life.

  • Butter. Pure Creamery Butter, pictured right, comes in a can and lasts three years.

  • Organic shortening is a good alternative to hydrogenated Crisco. It lasts indefinitely.

  • Lard. Surprisingly, new studies show lard is a healthful cooking fat! It’s versatile too.

  • Other oils. If possible, look for a NON-GMO corn oil, as 86% of corn has been genetically modified. Whatever oil you buy, be sure to buy them in small containers as the minute you open, they oxidate and begin deteriorating quickly. Avoid anything made with Soybean oil as 90% of soybean products are genetically modified or cross-contaminated. Here’s how to make your own oils.

# 9: Whole wheat flour.
Wheat is a basic food product that’s chock full of fiber, protein, vitamins and even minerals, like selenium.  If you stock white flour in your daily pantry, be sure to stock wheat flour in your Prepper’s pantry because it has more nutritive value when it has the whole grain (bran, germ and endosperm). White flour has only the endosperm.
Thankfully, “There is not currently, nor has there ever been, any genetically engineered wheat on the market,” according to the
Non-GMO project, so stock up!
You may also need flour for thickening gravies, or coat and fry, such things as freshly caught fish. If you have whole wheat flour, you won’t have to stock genetically modified corn starch, which is also used for thickening.
Wheat flour because it comes wrapped in plastic, rather than a paper bag which is more susceptible to pest invasions. Ultimately, you should store whole wheat flour in your every day pantry. Your long term pantry should include whole grain wheat and you should have a grain mill.
#10: Cereals  Shredded Wheat, corn or rice.
Stockpile whatever cereals your family eats oat, corn, rice, or wheat-based. We recommend Shredded wheat! The first edition of the Boy Scout Manual in 1911 highlights the best food for Boy Scouts is Shredded Wheat, “because it has all the muscle-building material in the whole wheat grain prepared in a digestible form, supplying all the strength needed for work or play.” If refrigeration isn’t an issue, pack wheat germ, which has high levels of fiber and vitamin E to boost your immune systems. Wheat germ is the center of the seed. Packed with protein and fiber, wheat
germ also has folate, magnesium, zinc, manganese, selenium and vitamin E. It’s considered “nutrition in a crunch.” It’s not really a meal, but one you can add to your hot cereal.

#11: Potato flour.
Consider adding potato flour to your Prepper’s Pantry. Potato flour is wonderful, gluten-free addition to your Prepper’s Pantry to make breads, pancakes and waffles, and potato soups. It’s also wonderful as a thickening agent, so you can avoid GMO cornstarch. Don’t confuse it with potato starch, because potato flour is the entire potato (skin and all) dehydrated.
#12: Corn as a grain (dried).
Corn as a grain is an essential prepper food and there are many kinds of dried corn.
Popcorn is a grain that can be ground into flour! Spanish for “dough,” masa is the flour of finely ground maize, hominy or corn. It’s basically been dried, cooked, ground, soaked in lime and then dried again. It reconstitutes easily with warm water and salt to make corn tortillas. You can also use Masa harina to make the dough for empanadas, papusas and tamales. Look for organic brands, which will ensure you’re not getting a dangerous genetically modified food products. While Masa Harina is a finely ground meal, corn grits is more versatile, hearty and nutritious basic food.
Nothing satisfies like the savory experience of Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free corn grits (also called polenta). For breakfast, you will love it with milk and honey. Grits left in a pot to cool become polenta. In this way, you can serve it for dinner with butter, cheese, marinara or gravy.  You can also purchase alkali-treated corn (actually dried maize kernels) known as hominy, which is largely popular in Southern and Mexican cuisine. Popular in the South, you can also find this product out West if you look for it in cans in the Mexican food isles. Hominy is high in calcium content.

#13: Corn as a vegetable.
Corn as a vegetable is also an important pantry essential. (Corn is both a grain and a vegetable: the only difference is that as a grain it’s dried before harvesting.) Buy organic corn in cans to help ensure it’s not genetically modified as most corn is GMO. In stores, look for the “Non-GMO project verified” label to avoid buying genetically modified corn. Steer clear of GMO corn products by purchasing organic (shockingly, 86% of the world’s corn is GMO).
#14: Oats and Oatmeal.
A favorite of American pioneers, oatmeal is a food low in saturated fat, and it’s also a good source of fiber, which is especially important during survival times. You’ll need to store adequate water as making the porridge requires 4 cups of water for every one cup of oatmeal. A tip for preparing is to soak the oatmeal over night, so that it takes just 9-12 minutes to boil (instead of a half an hour). Look for John McCann’s steel cut oatmeal in a can, which are 100% whole grain and natural Irish oats. Stock up on emergency buckets of rolled oats and quick oats today, and learn more about why oats are an important part of your food storage.
Living without power, cars, electronics or running water may seem like a nightmare scenario but to pioneers it was just the way life was. Having the skills to survive without modern conveniences is not only smart in case SHTF, it’s also great for the environment. Keep in mind that the key to a successful homestead does not only lie on being able to grow your own food but on other skills as well. Learning these skills will take time, patience and perseverance, and not all of these skills are applicable to certain situations. Hopefully, though, you managed to pick up some great ideas that will inspire you and get you started! Just like our forefathers used to do,  The Lost Ways Book teaches you how you can survive in the worst-case scenario with the minimum resources available. It comes as a step-by-step guide accompanied by pictures and teaches you how to use basic ingredients to make super-food for your loved ones.

#15:  Bread crumbs and stuffings.
Bread crumbs are a satisfying addition to casseroles, and can also help you make salmon and crab cakes with the cans in your Prepper’s food storage. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to find Bread crumbs sealed in plastic for freshness. Usually, they are boxed in waxed paper. Stuffing is a natural accompaniment to your mashed potatoes and will mix nicely with spices and dehydrated onions. Try also, bread in a can, and pumpernickel. Learn to like Pumpernickel and make it part of your everyday diet! This amazing whole grain rye bread (enjoyed by Germans and Scandinavians with cheeses, pates and meats), packs a mighty punch of fiber and has a three or four month shelf life! You can make a satisfying meal with even one slice of bread. In the beginning of a food crises situation, you will find yourself feeling full from this nutritious bread. So pack some pate and store Pumpernickel regularly. (You’ll feel regular too.)
#16: Shelf stable, ready to eat meals.
There are two kinds of shelf-stable, ready to eat meals to include: the kind you eat, and the kind you don’t. Soup is good food and can provide a hearty meal with crackers. In uncertain times, you can take comfort in having several shelf-stable, ready to eat meals on hand, which require no cooking. Go Picnic is one of them.
#17: Crackers.
While crackers have little nutritive value, they do provide a sense of normalcy to a survival situation and will be a worthy an satisfying accompaniment to soups and tuna salad, and peanut butter stashes in the Prepper’s Pantry. You may find some surprising nutritive benefits such as niacin and iron in flaky flavorful crackers. In your long term food storage you’ll need to buy some pilot crackers in a #10 can.
#18: Potato Flakes and au gratin potatoes.
If you can find a shelf-stable variety of au gratin or scalloped potatoes that don’t have hydrogenated oils, then go for it.  Left is Edward and Sons. Unfortunately, most au gratin potatoes have them (so skip Wegmann’s, Betty Crocker and Idahoan until they stop including hydrogenated oils in their manufacture). Look for au gratin potatoes at organic based food market, like Whole Foods. There are plenty of more reasons why you should make potatoes part of your long-term food storage plan.
#19: Rice.
Sure, jasmine rice is cheap food, and worth storing but you can also store a variety of rice to keep your family interested. Try basmati rice, Italian arborio rice, short grain Asian rice, wild rice, and brown rice too! Brown rice is a healthy option, but requires more cooking time, which could deplete your cooking resources. Consider instant rice for this reason alone, though it’s not as healthy as other rice options.
#20 Pastas.
Dried pasta has little to no fat or moisture content, so it resists spoilage. Among the most filling and inexpensive foods, store a variety of pastas in addition to your spaghetti and macaroni noodles including: egg noodles, gnocchi (made with potatoes), dried tortellini (filled with hard cheese), orzo (rice shaped pasta), couscous (wheat-based pasta) and the other variety of shaped Italian pasta such as lasagna, linguine, rotelle, rotini, rigatoni, orecchiette, penne, mastoccilli etc. Remember Asian pastas too! There are healthier options to the inexpensive ramen style noodles. Try soba (made from buckwheat), rice noodles, udon (wheat flour), bean curd noodles, and chow main noodles (fried noodles made of egg and wheat). Right, you can make a meal of Annie’s cheeseburger macaroni meal starter and Keystone Ground beef.
#21 Raisins, dried fruits and fruit strips.
Just a handful of raisins will provide a full serving of fruit. Raisins have protein, fiber, iron, and Vitamin C. Raisins are loaded with antioxidants and potassium, too. Use them in your Prepper’s pantry to enhance the flavor of rice for dinner and cereals for breakfasts. Remember, raisins are a dried fruit and not a dehydrated food. There is a difference in how you store each.  Organic raisins are the best choice so you can avoid toxic  pesticides of commercial farming. Newmans Own is an excellent choice. These raisins are packed with juicy flavor and a pleasing texture, and are available by the six pack in 15-oz cans for your prepper’s pantry and delivered to your door. Enhance your supply with dried apricots, dates, cranberries, mangos and whatever your family enjoys. Skip the fruit rollups, which are ladened with unwanted high-fructose corn syrups. Instead, look for Simply Fruit twists and high fiber dried fruit strips available in a variety of flavors, such as cherry, grape, and apricot. The more variety, the better for your family to fight boredom in diet and to get the essential nutrients they each provide
#22. Jams and jellies.
Jams and jellies are a canning favorite from blackberry jams, strawberry jams, raspberry jams, grape jellies and also apple butters, your pantry can easily have a variety of fruit spreads to sweeten life.
#23. Canned fruits.
Most people stock up on canned veggies, but really it’s the fruit they should concentrate on because fruits contain twice as much calories per pound as veggies. A fruit cocktail will give you about 300-400 calories per pound. Peaches, packed in light syrup offer a tremendous calorie boost to the survival diet. The liquids also provide a valuable source of hydration, so don’t can the juice in the cans! Look for citrus varieties, such as pineapple and mandarin oranges, to give the essential vitamin C.
Applesauce too can be a wonderful accompaniment to cereals, and can also serve as a dessert. Canned pumpkin puree will also provide a heavy dose of Vitamin A and you can make a simple soup by adding bouillon and spices, such as garlic.

#24 Canned veggies.
When it comes to veggies, preppers need to think beyond green beans! Unfortunately, green beans do not pack many calories. If you’re looking for the ideal veggies to stash, then think about canned root vegetables, like sweet potatoes and yams. Sweet potatoes are high in Vitamin A, plus they’re filling. Add a variety with canned sauerkraut, cabbage and beets, too. If you eat them, carrots, peas and potatoes provide the fixing for a nice stew. Canned olives, asparagus and artichoke hearts will help you make easy pasta dishes. Dried veggies, right are available online.
Skip the canned corn (it’s likely GMO).

#25: Beans and legumes.
Stock up on beans — all kinds of dried beans and canned beans, (including refried beans). The more variety of beans you store, the better as it provides energy and fiber. Beans pack around 1250 calories per pound. Best of all, you can sprout beans — it as little as five days you can sprout crunchy, fresh phytonutrients for your family from dried beans, peas, and lentils. (See the sprouter, immediate right.) Peanuts aren’t really nuts (they’re beans, but stock up on those too because they add protein).
#26: Nuts, seeds and nut-butters.
While it’s true that nuts can go rancid quickly, nuts are an excellent source of energy, so stock up on them in your Prepper’s pantry (provided there are no allergies in your family)! Raw almonds, walnuts and cashews are excellent choices, pistachio’s too. Mixed roasted nuts will also provide varieties, such as hazelnuts, pecans and Brazil nuts. Nuts are obviously allergens, so avoid giving them to children under 5. Think also canned chestnuts, which are a great source of fiber and found in the Asian section of your supermarket. (They’re also an excellent source of potassium, magnesium, iron and vitamin C.) The healthiest nuts and seeds are in bags, rather than oil filled cans and jars. Think sunflower seeds and alfalfa seeds too! Yes, you already knew to stock peanut butter, but did you know that peanut butter is really a bean butter? Look for peanut butters that are simply peanuts, oil and salt (yes, the kind with oils at the top, which are the natural peanut butters). Skip the peanut butters that have sugars in them or worse yet, those with hydrogenated oils in them. Know that “trans fat free” doesn’t mean that they are free from trans fats, it could mean that there is less than. 05 grams of trans fat per serving.
#27 Honey.
Even if you don’t use honey, buy some honey, honey! Not only will honey last forever, but you’ll use honey in survival times to flavor boring oatmeals and other breakfast grains, as well as teas. Honey eases sore throats, and more importantly, if you don’t have any topical antibiotics, you can use honey as a paste to put on wounds. There are medicinal and other reasons to stock honey in your preps: here are nine reasons to stock honey, honey! When you learn how to bake breads, you’ll realize that many 329 recipes call for honey. So, honey, what are you waiting for?
#28 Iodized salt.
Look to history and you’ll find salt was an important commodity. Salt can kill bacteria! Salt contains chloride and sodium ions, and all living things need these components in small quantities. Not all salt is the same! Humans need iodized salt to avoid thyroid gland problems and goiter and to help regulate fluid balance in the body, but more importantly we need salt to preserve food. How does salt help preserve food? Salt inhibits growth of germs in a process of osmosis where the salt pushes water out of the microbial cells. Best of all, salt lasts for ever. You can salt everything from salad greens the way the Roman’s did to curing meats and preserving other kinds food. Indeed, salt is very useful to Preppers.
#29 Sugars and Molasses.
You’ll need granulated sugar, brown sugar and powdered sugar. We also suggest buying sugar in the raw. Skip the beet and go for the cane, baby! Skip also the sugars that you can buy in boxes and paper bags. Buy your sugars wrapped in plastic, because this helps protect  it from insects. As a second step you can buy sugars in cans or place your own sugar purchase into mylar bags and sealed food-grade plastic buckets sealed with a gamma lid. Look also for sugar in the raw packets. One final note of caution with spices: if you regularly eat curry or other spicy foods then it’s fine to include them in your Prepper’s diet; however, you may well find yourself with a “ring of fire” otherwise. We therefore suggest you cautiously pack
#30: Spices and herbs.
Survival spices to consider might include saffron will sure make that boring old rice more tasty, and chili to add flavor to all those beans you’re storing. Buy more of the spices already in your cupboard. Some good basics include dill, red pepper, cumin, rosemary, oregano, dried mustard, and ginger in addition to the saffron and chili. Skip the strong spices curry! While it tastes wonderful, they may also attract human predators. If you’re stocking beans make sure to get pinto bean seasoning, right, to enhance the flavor of your preps.
#31: Condiments.
Your favorite condiments will go a long way towards making foods taste better in uncertain times. Buy pickle relish and small cans of mayonnaise for your tuna salad on crackers (because once you open the mayo, it will quickly go bad). If possible look for a mayo that’s not made with from deadly soybeans (90% of which are GMO). A variety of mustards can also help spice up your foods. Buy ketchup without deadly high- fructose corn syrup, and keep it in a brown paper bag and store in a dark place so that it will preserve as long as possible. Tabasco sauce, too can help add flavor to otherwise bland foods. Think also of canned gravy as a condiment! Gravies will surely add some flavoring to your potatoes and stuffing. Look for NON-GMO soy sauce for all that rice. Stock vinegars (balsamic, cider and rice whine). Think also in terms of Worcestershire sauce, barbecue sauce and to enhance your stews and soups and to help you make gravies. And on the sweet side, consider stocking maple syrup, vanilla and almond extracts, plus cocoa powder and chocolate syrups.
#32: Chocolates.
Chocolate chips store relatively well. Remember also, baking chocolate! Not only does chocolate pack loads of antioxidants, but it’s a morale booster that could prove essential. What’s more the fiber will fill you up. Pack high quality dark chocolate, like Dove bars, in your Prepper’s Pantry. If you look closely at the ingredients, of other chocolates, like Hershey’s Kisses, you’ll find an unwanted ingredient: hydrogenated oils. Those do not belong in your chocolate, even during survival times! Besides, chocolate has been known to boost heart health.

  • Chocolate may help fight urinary tract infections. So be sure to keep chocolate
chips to your food storage! Add chocolate chips to pancakes, muffins, breads,
and more to delight kids and help keep the normalcy as best you can in a
disaster situation. Read about morale boosting foods.

#33: Vitamins.
Keeping at peek vitality is crucial during episodes of stress. While multi-vitamins are a great idea, be sure to pack a Calcium with Vitamin D fortified vitamin, as this combination may help your body fight infections. Also, look for magnesium; As an essential stress supplement, magnesium prevents the damage caused by excess adrenaline. Vitamins and pills do not help a prepper pull weight, but vitamins do help the body use food. Only after eating actual food can a prepper pull more weight or work harder. So in short, the answer is not pills, but good food in plenty of variety is the key! The best option is to have the vitamins in the food. For kids, stock Calcium gummy Bears, right, to help fight infections and stay healthy.
#34: Food bars.
We already mentioned protein bars, but there are other kinds of food bars, including nut bars, pictured left and pemmican bars, pictured right. Ideal for a bug out bag, food bars are compact nutrition and should be part of your everyday food storage. Sure, some food bars are a sort of cross between chocolate candy bars and vitamins, others more of a granola, but they are often high in protein. Food bars can provide a satisfaction for a morning meal or an addition to your other rations. Look for coconut bars too! Another food bar that often goes under the radar with Prepper’s (but shouldn’t) is Pemmican, pictured right, which contains complete protein and gives energy. Free of isolates, fructose, sugar and cholesterol, Pemmican is a concentrated food bar that offers quick energy.
#35: Vodka.
You can cook with vodka, drink it or barter it. What’s more, vodka has a some medicinal value. Use vodka as a mouthwash or help numb the pain of a tooth ache. Apply vodka dabs to cold sores to dry them out, as an anesthetic for blisters, or to ease poison ivy and as a skin repellent to shoo flies and mosquitoes. Have stinky feet? Wipe the smell clean with vodka. Try vodka too for cleaning the lenses of eyeglasses. Who knew vodka would be such a versatile pantry item? It’s also on the prepper list of morale boosting foods.
#36: Dry yeast.
Unfortunately, yeast has a very short shelf life, but it’s still well worth having on hand. Dry yeast is an essential leavening agent in baking bread, and has a longer shelf life than compressed yeast, but still after several months it loses potency. It’s purpose is to convert the ferment able sugars of dough into carbon dioxide and ethanol. Look for Fleishmann’s Active Dry Yeast, which is the original active dry yeast, relatively stable and valued for its consistent performance since 1945. It’s one of the most essential ingredients to use in your pantry immediately following a survival situation.
#37: Baking soda and baking powder (leavening agents).
Both baking soda and baking powder are leavening agents, which means they produce carbon dioxide to help food rise.

  • Baking soda: Pure sodium bicarbonate, when you combine baking soda with honey or an acidic ingredient like buttermilk or yogurt, you’ll get a chemical reaction of carbon dioxide bubbles. This causes baked goods to rise. Look for aluminum free baking soda (a good choice is Bob’s Red Mill, which is extracted in an all natural process without chemicals. Baking soda can last two years. Learn why you should store baking soda in your preps.

  • Baking powder: Baking powder has sodium bicarbonate as an ingredient, along with an acidifying agent (cream of tartar for example) and drying agent (such as starch). Baking powder lasts around a year and half.

Sure, we listed 37 essential food items for your
Prepper’s Pantry, but the list could easily continue on non-food related essentials. For example, extra can openers, firewood, charcoal, lighter fuel, candles, paper plates, plastic utensils and disposable cups. Finally, remember the tampons! Any real survival man will tell you that a fluffed up unused tampon is a good emergency tinder source to have around, so come on baby, light my fire!
But while we’re still on the topic of essential foods to stock, consider this: if you’re lucky enough to have a root cellar, then you can stock fresh apples, potatoes, onions and garlic to last you several months, but remember, never store them in plastic bags or in the refrigerator. They must be stored in a cool dark, and well ventilated space, and away from pests, which is not easy to do.
Finally, know that it’s okay to stock up on junk food. Did you know that Cheetos and Pringles can get a fire going? The content of much of the processed foods you buy has the perfect combination of air and fats to make fire. Who knew that your everyday food storage of junk foods would come in so handy in a disaster?
So there you have it: the 37 essential food items to stock. Now you are that much more prepared.

Martin Armstrong: Global unrest until 2032
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Martin_armstrong-forecaster-2

(TRUNEWS) Renegade economist Martin Armstrong says America — and the rest of the world — will experience 16 years of civil unrest, not fading until 2032.
Armstrong’s statements were made during an exclusive interview with Rick Wiles of TRUNEWS  on Monday, while sharing his analysis of the war, civil unrest, and business cycles; and the future they predict for the United States.
In addition to four election cycles of civil unrest and social upheaval, Armstrong said economic power will have also shifted from the US to Asia by 2032, seeing an initial shockwave as early as 2018 — and going into full swing by 2020.
Martin Armstrong: “This is when, what you’ll most likely see is a very sharp, first a decline in the dollar right now, then the dollar will turn around and go up dramatically, and as it goes up dramatically thats when you get the political reforms, for example you had Bretten Woods, Roosevelt confiscated gold, devalued the dollar in 1934 because the dollar went up so high. 1985 what do you see? The dollar went up so high the British pound went up fell to par, what was the result? They formed G5, at the Plaza Accord. So, theres always some sort of major upset, and 2018 is when that comes into play. So from there on were looking at serious changes, if the dollar goes up very sharply the two countries that are against the dollar being a reserve currency are effectively China and Russia. But, I can tell you whats going on behind the curtains already is that the Federal reserve is complaining that the dollar shouldn’t be the reserve currency because they get lobbied that they can’t raise interest rates for the domestic economy, because its going to hurt other countries. So, ya know, were beginning to realize that when the dollar is the only game in town, what happens is that you lose domestic policy objectives for international.”
What does this bode for the future of the US dollar and its seat at the head of the global economy? Could a two tier dollar, one international one domestic, be introduced to the US? Martin Armstrong said this prospect is very likely; that it would not be controlled by the US; and be backed by a basket of currencies similar to the current system of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs).
Martin Armstrong: “..Whether it’ll be a dollar is debatable. But I believe the ultimate solution will be some sort of a basket of currencies, that is not dependent upon any one individual currency, will become the reserve. And then each countries currency will float against that, that makes the most sense.”
During the interview Martin Armstrong also said:

  • Governments and crony capitalists have majorly manipulated markets since 1970.

  • World is currently ripe for revolution, people want change, will take any change.

  • GOP establishment have lost ability to control Republican party, and will likely fracture before 2020.

  • 2016 election signals rise in anti establishment third party activity.

  • Major swings in third party activity every 52 years.

  • Witnessing final stage of socialism, Marxist system in complete collapse.

  • Tax rate is directly correlated to GDP; higher tax rate — lower the GDP.

  • American is in decline, every empire must fall.

  • Super powers throughout history and the economic shifts: Rome fell to Constantinople, Constantinople fell to India, India fell to China, China fell to Britain, Britain fell to USA, USA is currently falling to China, real GDP will soon surpass US.

  • China rose, and Russia did not, because Beijing introduced parts of Western capitalism including business ownership and partially refrained from major market manipulation.

  • Civil unrest cycle peaks in 2020.

  • Europe may fall to Islam. Mohammad #1 name in London for new kids.

  • USA will likely break up, country has become too divided by social and cultural values.

  • EU will likely fall apart. Brexit and separation movements will succeed if elections are not rigged.

  • War cycle heating up; as global depression spreads so will war. Middle East will be focus, as well as Russia, Ukraine and Turkey. Japan and China will have showdown over control of Asian Sphere. Battle against ISIS and radical Islam looming.

  • Saudi Arabia is finished. Middle East’s ultimate example of whats wrong with socialism.

  • Business cycle turned down on September 30th 2015, will bottom by 2020.

  • Business cycle turned down Sept 30 2015, 4 year decline bottoming by 2020.

  • Next economic crisis will hit the bond market, not the stock market, as governments — both locally and nationally — default from their debt burdens.
  • 4 elections which can shake the world: 1) June 23rd British referendum. 2) November American elections 3) April/May 2017 French elections. 4) August 2017 German elections.

  • Martin Armstrong ended the interview by noting that the period between 2017 and 2020 will be the most dangerous time of the next decade. He said he plans to stay in the US, and highly recommends any stable area where the population does not heavily rely on government and is not overly socialistic.

For the full interview listen to the Monday, May 2nd edition of TRUNEWS.

CNN has the strongest surge in ratings in the past 14 years and now beats Fox News in the all important category of 25-54 year old viewership.  That age category drives the ad revenue determinations for the industry.
Fox News can’t say they were not warned this would be an outcome of their insufferable decision to continue promoting a media narrative in opposition to Donald Trump. The same thing happened to Macys Department Store after they dropped Trump.

(Via CNN) CNN ranked #1 in cable news in prime time in April. CNN beat Fox News for the fifth time in the last eight months in M-Su prime time (four of the past eight in M-F prime) among adults 25-54.  The last time CNN had this many prime time wins in an eight-month period versus Fox News was over 14 years ago (Nov. 2001).
CNN also handily topped MSNBC this month in all dayparts, with CNN besting MSNBC for the 22nd straight month in Total Day (among both total viewers and among adults 25-54) and in prime time (among 25-54).  In total viewers, CNN has now beaten MSNBC for the fifth straight month (or seven out of eight months) in prime time.  CNN continued to top MSNBC by wide margins during the day (9am-4pm) – posting a +36% advantage in total viewers (630k vs. MSNBC’s 464k) and +58% more among adults 25-54 (161k vs. 102k).
In April, CNN had the most growth of any television network (cable or broadcast) among both total viewers and adults 25-54, increasing triple digits in prime time.  Among ALL cable networks in April, CNN ranked #7 in total viewers in M-F prime time.  In Total Day, CNN was also up vs. last year, increasing +59% in total viewers and +48% among adults 25-54.  (read more)
(Via WJ) “Anecdotal evidence suggests a growing number of Fox viewers have been angered at the cable outlet’s perceived move to the left the last couple years, as well as its frequent criticisms of Republican presidential primary front-runner Donald Trump,” wrote Cheryl Chumley on WND. “(Megyn) Kelly, for example, came under public fire for her questioning of Trump during an August debate on Fox about his past treatment of women, and for the ensuing public spat that waged between her and the billionaire businessman for months.”
“The world of broadcast and cable television is being buffeted on all sided by competition from numerous other media sources and is hemorrhaging viewership. The odds of Fox recovering or growing their audience after the primary season is over is exceedingly slim,” wrote Steve McCann on The American Thinker. (read more)

Government wants to assume the power to herd you like sheep. The Economic Confidence Model (ECM) proves that they cannot alter society. The business cycle has defeated everyone from politicians to investors and goldbugs. No matter what you show these people, they either ignore or demonize it because they refuse to accept failure. They are incapable of altering their biases.
The business cycle will always win for only fools ignore it. Here we have Hillary promising the same textbook-Marxist policies to increase spending and raise taxes on the rich while hunting everyone (besides the bankers) for money for taxes. Ronald Reagan’s “trickle-down” economics, which the Clintons bash, produced a real 3.5% GDP growth during his administration. Barack Obama will probably come in at 1.5% GDP growth rate. No matter what you show these people, they do not get it because they do not want to. They cannot run for office without promising more failed political formulas. They cannot depart from that mantra, and as such, we are moving in a profound economic decline that will not end well.

Would that be for President or for President?
In the aftermath of Benghazi combined with Aaron Klein’s revelations that some of the illegal Clinton emails were transmitting his location prior to his death, should we not question the wisdom of anyone who would support Clinton’s run for the Presidency? And when we look all of the other criminal activities by this sociopath, shouldn’t we question the sanity and character of anyone who would support Clinton in this critical time in the history country?
The following is a partial list of Clinton supporters and this small, but representative sample size of Clinton supporters should make America realize that stopping her run for the Presidency is as important, if not more so, than it is to get Donald Trump elected.
So, just who supports Hillary?

#1 The Criminal Federal Reserve Supports Hillary Clinton

Lael Brainard, hoping the public would not notice the overt support the Federal Reserve has put behind Hillary Clinton through Brainard’s patronage.
Despite the fact that the Federal Reserve state  that all of their decisions are free from political influences, Hillary Clinton has been the recipient of several donations from a well-known and top Federal Reserve official.
For nine years, at a time when Lael Brainard was at the Brookings Institution, she has made donations to Hillary. Moving forward to 2014, after serving as a senior official at the US Treasury Department, Brainard was appointed to the Washington-based Federal Reserve’s board of governors, yet Brainard continued her support despite the overt policy of the Federal Reserve Board to remain aloof from politics.

#2 Virginia Governor, Terry McAuliffe and his Merry Band of 200,000 ex-cons Support Hillary

Gov. Mcauliffe has delivered 200, 000 ex-con voters in the swing state of Virginia.
Virginia Governor, Terry McAuliffe (D), who, according to The Washington Post is reporting that on April 22, 2016, signed an executive order enabling more than 200,000 ex-cons who have completed their sentences and have been released from supervised probation or parole, to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
McAuliffe has previously reinstated 18,000 nonviolent felons who have previously  had their voting rights terminated. Now, McAuliffe’s latest executive order reinstates voting rights to all violent felonsThe reinstated rights even apply to felons convicted in another state prior to moving to Virginia.
McAuliffe’s Executive Order is clearly intended to benefit Democrats and Hillary Clinton. The strongest demographic supporting Clinton are African Americans. In Virginia, 25% of African Americans have been permanently banned from voting because they’re convicted felons.
To leave no doubt as to the motivation behind this Executive Order, McAuliffe is a close and personal friend of Hillary. McAuliffe recently raised $2 million at their McLean home for the Clinton Foundation.

An intimate moment between two major partners, Putin and Clinton, in the transfer of nuclear material between two hostile countries.
Go to the youtube channel owned by dutchsinse. He makes a very compelling case that several ranches, not just Bundy’s and Hammond’s have been under assault in order to procure precious metals. In the following youtube video, dutchsinse asks the following question:“Let’s just call it what it is. Human greed is at stake here. Who is going to get the gold back there in the back country? Who is going to get the uranium?”
One of the big problems in America today is that “public servants” like Hillary Clinton actually represent a foreign enemy masquerading as a domestic public servant.
I will go one step further than Donald Trump’s assertion that Clinton is a criminal and state that Hillary Clinton is this generation’s Ethel Rosenberg and has committed heinous acts of treason against the people of the United States.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Cfr-hillary

Hillary Clinton, the Ethel Rosenberg of her generation. Clinton sold uranium to the Russians while serving as the Secretary of State and this is what both the Bundy and the Hammond Ranch Affair is all about.

A former key member of the Obama administration and current Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, has proven herself to be the Ethel Rosenberg of her generation. You may recall your U.S. history as Ethel Rosenberg sold nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War. In an act every bit as egregious as Ethel Rosenberg’s treason, Hillary Clinton sold uranium to the Russians while serving as the Secretary of State. Ironically, the original source on this treasonous act committed by Clinton was none other than the liberal rag we call the  New York Times.

The proof is undeniable that Hillary Clinton committed the treasonous act of selling uranium to the Russians while Secretary of State, as reported in the New York Times. The Russian blood money, as reported, is being held in an offshore account and is being used to fund her run for the Presidency.
From the New York Times….

“A Uranium One sign that points to a 35,000 acre ranch by John Christensen, near the town of Gillette, Wyoming. Uranium One has the mining rights Mr. Christensen’s property.”   This is proof of more BLM chicanery which will involve multiple BLM ranches.
The New York Times further asserts that members of the Canadian mining industry, who have supported Clinton’s campaign, financed and sold off to the Russians a company known as Uranium One. Uranium One is directly responsible for transferring uranium from BLM land to the Russians through an off-shore holding company. Again, according to the NY Times, the Russians, through three separate transactions, acquired Uranium One, while paying off the Clintons and their Canadian partners from 2009-2013.  The business deal also involved paying Bill Clinton $500,000 dollars for a speech on energy which was delivered in Moscow.

How Does Clinton Stay Out of Prison?

While appearing on the Today show, Clinton was asked by Matt Lauer, “They are clinging to the hope that the way they will be able to deal with that, is that at some point between now and the election… that they will get to see Hillary Clinton in handcuffs… that there will be some kind of political perp walk based on your private email server.”
This was her response:

To the Trump supporters, we need to spend a significant number of time and effort in dethroning the heir apparent to the Presidency. Protecting Plants From Animal Damage Before It’s Too Late - Tue 19 Apr 2016, 8:22 pm

Protecting Plants From Animal Damage Before It’s Too Late

The first thing deer and rabbits think when the winter starts to wane is, “I’m hungry, where is the fresh food?” Actually, they don’t even have to think about it, they know where it is. Innately, they find microclimates in a garden where plants emerge first after the soil warms up a bit. These places in your yard are where the snow melts first, such as:

  • Garden beds along a fireplace wall
  • Near a well-used hot tub located outside
  • Near the dryer vent
  • The south side of a large tree in sunshine
  • Along some boulders warmed by the sun edging a path or patio
  • Southern or western sunny side of a house foundation
  • Southern or western sunny side of a hill

Radiant heat emanates from these sources, hits the mulch or garden soil, and pushes plants up out of the ground.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Snow-tulips
In early spring, it still may be chilly outside, spring rains are happening, or you may be experiencing erratic weather that is warm one week, followed by a snow squall the next and back again. Considering this, the gardener may feel it’s not time to go outside and begin gardening yet. That is when the deer and rabbits are watching your microclimates very carefully to see if your Dianthus have some green leaves left on them after the winter, checking out which of your early bulbs are spiking up through the mulch, seeing if any roses, hydrangeas or sedums are pushing new succulent growth, and much more. Remember, they consider your plants as nutritional food, especially after a long winter where food was sparse. Plus, there was competition for what little food was available.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Plantskydd-2
From the distance of looking out of your kitchen window or walking to your parked car, the garden beds look as if they are dormant. But if you patrolled your garden with a quick walk around the yard and a careful eye, you will see all kinds of unexpected new growth. Even with snow in your yard, microclimate areas are the first to warm up and plants emerge – with hungry deer and rabbits just waiting to seize the moment!
To prevent this problem, be proactive. Use Plantskydd Animal Repellent granular formula early in the season to send the message to browsing animals that this garden is dangerous and not worth the risk – even though food (your plant) is available.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Plantskydd-3
Browsing animals smell the odor long after humans can no longer smell it. It is a fear-based repellent, once their strong sense of smell is triggered by it, they think a predator is in the area and an animal has been killed. This danger signal motivates them to quickly vacate the area and to take their young with them.
Due to the erratic early spring weather, use our granular formula. Rain or shine, you can sprinkle it right where the plants are emerging. When the most vulnerable of your plants begin to unfurl their leaves-like tulips, lilies or hostas- spray the leaves with Plantskydd ready-to-use spray (or mix up your own batch of our powder concentrate). Once the plants form flower buds, spray them again. It’s important to apply the spray when temperatures are above freezing, and the plant will be dry for 24 hours, which includes your sprinkler system.
Plantskydd is the #1 choice of professional growers, landscapers and foresters. Proven to out-last and out-perform all other repellents, it is rainproof, so no need to re-apply after rainfall or irrigation. Plantskydd is the first animal repellent OMRI listed ORGANIC, so it is safe for people, pets and the environment!

Rolling Plunder – How Scott Walker and Paul Ryan Plan To Sell Out Wisconsin, and the Voters are Obli - Thu 31 Mar 2016, 3:54 pm

Rolling Plunder – How Scott Walker and Paul Ryan Plan To Sell Out Wisconsin, and the Voters are Oblivious…

Posted on March 30, 2016 by sundance
Wise Up and Rise Up Wisconsin
♦ Governor Scott Walker likes to display his rebel side (although it’s an illusion intended to solidify Tea-Party bona fides in optics only) by riding around on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.   After all, Harley Davidson is headquartered in Wisconsin.
Well, for now at least.
♦ Wisconsin representative, now Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, also likes to tout his form of fiscal conservatism.  However, as the former Chairman of the budgetary ways and means committee, a federal budget is also an optical illusion (hasn’t been one since ’07).
♦ Representative Paul Ryan and Governor Scott Walker along with RNC Chairman Reince Preibus promote themselves as proud Wisconsin cheese-heads; “conservatives” they say.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Cheeseheads-walker-ryan-preibus
Well, given Paul Ryan’s full-throated endorsement and promotion for the Trans-Pacific Trade Deal (TPP), perhaps the Wisconsin working voter would like to see exactly what they have in mind for you.  Remember, each of the aforementioned has also endorsed Senator Ted Cruz – who, not coincidentally, was the co-author of the Trade Promotion Authority bill (TPA) which was the vehicle to insure TPP’s passage.
Rather than go through all of the tentacles, and difficult to understand TPP construct, let’s instead use that wonderful Scott Walker (Harley Davidson motorcycle) example to show Wisconsin voters what’s really going on.
Representative Paul Ryan and Senator Ted Cruz created the legislative vehicle for The Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership, or TPP.    The legislative vehicle for TPP is called Trade Promotion Authority, or TPA.
Both Ryan and Cruz were actually quite proud of TPA, until candidate Donald Trump made a campaign issue of the trade deal.   Senator Cruz now claims he doesn’t support TPP.
However, these trade deal constructs did not happen by accident, they were built and designed for a reason.   The wall street connections to TPP brings the presidential election race into the more broad agenda, and that’s where you find a geographical relationship which immediately connects RNC head Reince Preibus.
You see, sometimes you need to step back to see the larger picture.
The RNC/GOPe were bedfellows in 2014 along with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its president Tom Donohue.  The U.S. CoC worked earnestly to get the Trans-Pacific Trade Deal constructed.  Donohue being the CEO in charge of the U.S. Business interests, via the Chamber, who were doing the actual trade deal negotiations.
The U.S. Chamber (Donohue) also needed a legislative path.  As a consequence the path needs legislatures as bill sponsors.  That’s where Paul Ryan and Ted Cruz come in to the picture.  Together in early 2015 they penned an Op-Ed which appeared in the Wall Street Journal, and also is available HERE.
How they actually worked in the House and Senate to get the trade vehicle, TPA, through the legislative system is quite remarkable.  FULL DETAILS HERE.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Paul-ryan-cpac
When we say “remarkable”, we really mean it.
When it is possible to usurp the will of the people, and simultaneously position yourself as outside of the construct therein, such Machiavellian plausible deniability should at the very least be recognized as brilliant.    TPA was a brutal scheme.  TPP is devastating to the U.S.  But the way Ryan/Cruz guided TPA through the House and Senate was brilliant nonetheless.
And that is where Wisconsinites (Preibus, Ryan, Walker) align with a unity agenda within the deal itself.  A deal constructed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, that entirely benefits Wall Street.
Can you see now how the 2014 GOPe roadmap gains increased importance, and how Presidential Candidate Scott Walker became part of the entire 2016 nomination scheme?    Follow the money.  Yes, including the Ricketts money.
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Scott-walker-harleyBeyond the terrible legislation is the actual TPP trade deal itself; and beyond the TPP are the consequences to the U.S. manufacturing base and U.S. worker.
For an example of those consequences we turn to the beloved Harley Davidson.
A few years ago Harley Davidson opened a plant in Northern India, yes India.
[ Remember the Wisconsin Sikh Temple shooting – did you see those police at the CNN town hall questioning Donald Trump? ]
Coincidences are funny that way. I digress.
The Street motorcycles being sold in the U.S. will be manufactured in the Milwaukee-based company’s Kansas City facility, Wandell said. The Street bikes for international riders will be made in the company’s Bawal, India, plant that opened in 2011.
Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HOG) currently assembles motorcycles in India and Brazil to avoid tariffs, but the parts are made in America and shipped as a kit to those countries. (link)

Harley Davidson in India?  Many die-hard hog fans were worried that Harley was going to start building their bikes out of country.  Given what happened to the auto industry can you blame them for worrying.   However, that wasn’t immediately what was happening, because Harley Davidson USA knew their bikes lived and died on the reputation of being “American Iron”, despite many of the parts made over seas.
However, India has a 100+% tariff on motorcycle imports.  When combined with other import taxes and duties it all adds up to a staggering 115% cost increase to sell a U.S. manufactured Harley in India.
India also has a population over a billion people.  A very large market!  But selling an expensive bike in a poor country with a 100+% import tariff makes the market virtually untouchable.  Unless…

….“We can make (the price) more attractive in those markets by building over there,” Blankenheim said

To work around the problem, and simultaneously set themselves up for future market opportunities, Harley Davidson built a plant in India.    If the Harley is built in India it can be sold in India for less than half the price of building in the U.S. and importing it.
However, the future opportunities angle stems from India not only building their own Harleys, but also manufacturing most of the Harley’s sold on the international market as well.  Build here and export from the U.S. and you find a big tariff at the destination; but build in India and export from India and the tariffs are avoided upon arrival.
How does this help the U.S. manufacturing of Harley Davidson?  How does this help jobs here in the U.S.?  How does this help the U.S. factory worker?
It doesn’t.
But the corporate side (Wall Street / NYSE “HOG”) books of Harley Davidson look great.
See how that works?
In essence, Harley USA will build Harley’s for the USA (disclaimer: “for now”), and Harely in India will build for most the rest of the world.   They are still in the working-out-the-kinks-process part of the global plan, but it is a plan being executed.
So you might ask if India, with a billion citizen market, charges a 100% tariff on U.S. manufactured product, well, what’s the tariff the USA charges to import a motorcycle here from say, Japan?
Well, that would be 2.4%.
Yes, a measly 2.4%
But, wait, it gets better – that is going away too:
America will remove a tariff levied on Japanese motorcycles with engine displacements of over 700cc under the recently announced Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact (TPP), which includes Australia and covers 40 percent of the global economy.
The 2.4 percent duty will be eliminated five years after the multilateral trade deal takes effect, which should, in theory, reduce the price of motorcycles in the over 700cc space in America, placing the imported fare on the same level playing field as home-grown marques like Harley-Davidson, Indian and Victory. Those marques mainly focus on bikes with engine capacities of more than 700cc.
America currently imposes no tariff on imported motorbikes with engines of 700cc or lower (link)

Are you seeing the problem yet?
If the U.S. export of a Harley Davidson incurs an import tariff at the destination (say China 30%, or Vietnam 40%), but the same tariff does not apply when the import arrives from India, what nation do you think will be manufacturing the Harley Davidson motorcycles which appear in China?
Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Tpp-trade-2Meanwhile, the U.S. unilaterally disarms in the import tariff battle, and drops all import tariffs on the foreign motorcycles which will directly compete with those very same remaining Harley Davidson motorcycles which ARE made in the U.S.A.
Do you remember the Wisconsin Radio Host Charlie Sykes interview of Donald Trump when Sykes climbed atop his high horse and so “righteously” told Trump that Wisconsin is an Import-Export state, and tariffs hurt their economy? etc. etc. etc.
How does that Sykes gibberish look against this example now?
We are only using Harley Davidson as a representative example based on geography (Wisconsin).  This horrific Trade Deal applies nation wide in all areas of manufacturing, import and export.
Scott Walker will be fine, he’ll probably end up on Wall Street.  Speaker of the House Paul Ryan will be fine, he’ll lock in a multi-million lobbying contract.  Reince Preibus will be fine, he’s already got a rolodex filled with Global Bankers and High Financiers.
It’s the ordinary middle-class Wisconsin cheese-head voter who will be impacted.
Are they foolish enough to be co-dependents to their own financial demise?

I guess we’ll find out….

Just a Reminder, this is an insurgency. – The modern enemy of Wall Street is Main Street vulgarians. The current enemy of the RNC/GOPe is not Democrats, it’s Grassroots Conservatives; Common Sense Conservatives; more vulgarians.
The Republican Party, and the Republican media apparatus, view us as their enemy. We are the enemy they need to protect themselves from:
In 2014, the RNC approved selection rules that govern how each state’s delegates are portioned out from the primaries. Under one of the changes, states holding their primaries between March 1 and March 14 will have their delegates doled out proportionately with election results, a change that will likely stymie a movement candidate.

States that have primaries on or after March 15 will be winner-take-all states.
That’s important because another RNC rule change requires that a candidate must win a majority of delegates in eight or more states before his or her name may be presented for nomination at the 2016 Republican National Convention.

With 18 GOP presidential candidates, for now, it will be that much harder for any candidate to win a majority in any state, let alone eight. (Article July 2015)

Topics tagged under 1 on Established in 2006 as a Community of Reality - Page 12 Gop-versus-tea-partyNow, ask yourself, why would the RNC want to “stymie a movement candidate“? Who exactly does that benefit? Obviously, the “non-movement” candidate, ie “the turtle“.
Isn’t the entire reason for campaigning in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina etc. to make a movement/momentum?
In addition Rule #40 changed in 2014 from previously five needed state wins, to a newer threshold of eight (8):
Officially, it’s Rule 40 in the RNC handbook and it states that any candidate for president “shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of eight (8) or more states” before their name is presented for nomination at the national convention. (article March 2014)

Again, ask yourself who does this benefit? A candidate can win seven states outright, and still not have their name presented for nomination?
These rules were made/affirmed in 2014 – Who or what exactly was the GOP concerned about blocking in 2016 that would necessitate such rules? When combined with other rule changes you can clearly identify a consolidation of power within the RNC apparatus intentionally constructed to stop the candidate of the GRASSROOTS from achieving victory.

It’s all part of their GOPe Roadmap.

New FBI Filings Reveal ‘Pending Investigation’ Into Clinton’s E-Mails is Far From Over

In December, Vice News filed a FOIA lawsuit against the FBI seeking to obtain information related to the Clinton Server, including:
1.  Any and all emails and other records retrieved from the server, thumb drive, and any other electronic equipment obtained either directly or indirectly from Hillary Clinton (collectively and individually the “Clinton Server”) which has not already been made public; and

4. Any and all correspondence between any person within the FBI and any person within the U.S. Department of State regarding, relating to, or referencing the Clinton Server; and

Late on Friday, the FBI filed a Motion for Summary Judgment, asking the Court to dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds that the requested information is exempt from release pursuant to FOIA Exemption 7(A) because the release of records responsive to the requests could reasonably be expected to interfere with an active law enforcement proceeding.  The FBI also filed a pair of declarations in support of its summary judgment motion to provide the Court with a more detailed explanation and justification for the assertion of FOIA Exemption 7(A) to withhold records responsive to Vice’s request.
In the first declaration, David A. Hardy, the chief of the FBI’s FOIA office, states that the FBI has withheld two records responsive to Request #4 that consist of “memoranda from the FBI to the Department of State regarding evidence” and the “purpose of these communications with the Department of State was to solicit assistance in furtherance the FBI’s investigation.”  Furthermore, the “FBI concluded that the disclosure of these records … could reasonably be expected to reveal the nature, scope, and focus of the FBI’s activities in the investigation….”
With respect to Request #1, Hardy does not reveal the specific number of responsive records, rather he simply states that any responsive records are “potential evidence in the FBI investigation, or may provide leads to or context for potential evidence.”  He goes on to state that the premature disclosure of evidence could be reasonably expected to interfere with the pending investigation because it could tip off individuals to the scope of focus of the investigation and allow them to take defensive actions and/or suppress evidence.
In addition to the Hardy Declaration, the FBI also filed a “Classified Declaration” that provides additional details in support of the FOIA exemption which the FBI states they could not provide on the public record without further adversely affecting the ongoing investigation.  The classified declaration will be reviewed by the Court in private and purports to further describe the harm associated with releasing information responsive to Request #1 and Request #4.
The information contained in the FBI’s summary judgment motion and accompanying declarations is important because it indicates that the FBI is still in the process of sorting through and gathering evidence related to the Clinton Server investigation.  The FBI states repeatedly throughout the latest court filings that it is continuing to assess the evidentiary value of “any materials retrieved for the investigation” from the Clinton Server and expresses concern about how the premature disclosure of evidence would adversely impact the pending investigation. Furthermore, the FBI’s response to Request #1 could be interpreted to indicate that the FBI did in fact recover additional materials, including possibly deleted e-mails, from the Clinton Server.
Finally, the fact that the FBI filed a “Classified Declaration” in support of its summary judgment motion tends to indicate that even more classified material exists on the Clinton Server than the over 2,000 classified e-mails we already know about.  In fact, LawNewz asked former federal prosecutor Bill Thomas to clarify the significance of the “Classified Declaration” and he said, not only is the “information being submitted to the court classified, but its really more than that, it is information that if revealed there exists ‘reasonable danger that compulsion of the evidence will expose military matters which, in the interest of national security, should not be divulged.'”
At the end of the day, this all makes Clinton’s defiant refusal to even address Jorge Ramos’ question about a potential indictment at the March 9 Democratic debate look even more like wishful thinking.  Clinton and her supporters may not want to hear it, but this e-mail issue isn’t going away anytime soon.
