    The European Union confirmed on Monday its willingness to continue to work with Iraq and help in re-displaced people to their areas liberated and the implementation of reforms, returned to Iraq fighting a war against (Daesh) in defense of Europe as well, while praised the administration of Kirkuk role of the Union in support of Iraq in general and the province in particular, Refit call for the need to include Kirkuk local elections guarantee the constitutional and legal rights of its citizens.
    This came during a joint press conference held by the governor of Kirkuk, Najm al-Din Karim, with the European Union's ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Simonet, in the Office of the province, the city center, (250 km north of Baghdad), attended by the (long-Presse).
    Karim said, "The European Union shares a significant role in Iraq through humanitarian assistance provided to the displaced people and to support the federal government in several areas in coordination with the Iraqi Council of Representatives," noting that "the meeting with the ambassador focused on the needs of Kirkuk, especially the humanitarian and the need for local elections to maintain a guarantee of rights constitutional and legal for its citizens as well as the liberalization of Hawija process. "
     The governor pointed out, that "the EU Ambassador showed great understanding of the needs of Kirkuk and the importance of supporting the province," noting that "the Ambassador has had a prominent role in supporting the survivor Yazidi Nadia Murad, exposing Daesh terrorist gangs crimes."
    For his part, said Simonet, he said that "his second visit to the governor of Kirkuk and its people, came to offer congratulations for the courage of the fighters on the battlefield around Kirkuk," noting that "the European Union has provided in recent years, significant support for the displaced, and will continue so as to ease their suffering."
    The Ambassador stressed the importance of "the return of the displaced to their areas liberated and safe," returned that "the federal government and local and those in Kirkuk, they have a lot of work to support the displaced people, and we should all think about and prepare with partners to post Daesh."
    He Simonet, "the European Union is ready to work with the Iraqi government to re-displaced people to safe areas and to provide assistance in the field of political reforms," ​​he returned that "Iraq is not only fighting a war against Daesh in his own defense, but also in defense of Europe."
