Israel announced plans to build 3,000 new homes in settlements in the occupied West Bank.
This is the third statement of its kind during the 11 days since US President Donald Trump took power.
The Trump had hinted that he will change his predecessor, Barack Obama's policies and that it would be more receptive to Israeli settlements.
Trump and appointed a famous supporter of the settlements to be ambassador to the United States in Israel, as the Israeli delegation participated in the taking office ceremony.
The announcement came in late at night, while Israel is preparing to evacuate the homes were built illegally in the settlements.
The Ministry of Defense, the body which manages the land captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war, a statement saying that the defense minister Aevgdor Lieberman and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to the resolution, which it described as aiming "to meet the demand for housing and returning to normal life."
