Perhaps what over-shadowed the game last night, at least on social media was that the win by Winnipeg meant the return to Twitter of one of Winnipeg's best. @SadSackJetsfan.

A self-imposed ban on tweeting until the Jets had won 3 games in a row stretched on for some time. In fact the anticipation of the first tweet was almost more important than the win itself for many, perhaps a sign of the resignation within the fan base of another lost season. However, here it is...

The Jets twitter scene is a better place with Sacky around.

So what does this mean, 3 games in a row? Let's be clear it was far from a masterpiece and it was a classic 'hold on for dear life' moment. Look at a shot attempts graph like this one:

Dallas threw everything at the Jets and then some in the third period. Ondrej was indeed a giant and while he has his limitations he did what needed to be done- guy deserves credit for the barrage of rubber he faced last night.

Jim Toth of the Big Show on TSN 1290 in Winnipeg brought up a very interesting stat today regarding the Jets core youth of Scheifele Laine and Ehlers. The trio had a combined six points last to add to their very impressive totals and Toth presented this.

Combined they have 143 points and they are all 23 or younger. Is there three players that age anywhere else scoring that much?

    *look over at the Leafs*

Marner, Mathews and Nylander have 112 points

So compare this as points per game then to account for the 5 extra games the Jets have played.

    Scheifele, Ehlers, Laine- .947 pts/game

    Marner, Mathews, Nylander - .767 pts/game

Let's take a look at another team with some young forwards, the Flames.

Monahan, Gaudreau and Bennet- 85 points in 148 games or .574 puts/game

You could even bump that number up by taking out Bennet and putting in Hamilton.

Is there another team that has players doing what the core three youth in Winnipeg is doing right now? I can't think of one. This trio, while not always on the same line is out as interesting to watch as any right now, at least when considering production. Not as flashy or talented as McDavid or Crosby/Malkin or Ovechkin they certainly bring a set of skills that compliments one another.

There's no guarantee of success from these three players. The Jets have their holes and challenges but they certainly can compensate for some of those, but not forever.

By the way Jacob Trouba played 30:16 last night with only 59 second on the PP and 55 on the PK. He logged a ton of minutes and deservedly so, the guy has been a beast for a few games now. He was the trailer on several rushes and was dangerous all night. Needless to say, he's earned the coach's trust and is getting the role and ice time he's always wanted.

On to Colorado and what wi
