    He met with the Speaker of Parliament, Saleem al - Jubouri, on Sunday, a delegation from the US Congress , led by Sen. Robert C. Crocker, the presence of the US ambassador to Iraq , Douglas Silliman. 
    A statement by the Office of al - Jubouri that "During the meeting , they reviewed bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, and ways of strengthening them to ensure the interests of both sides also discussed joint coordination in the face of the organization Daesh terrorist, the great progress made by the security forces in the liberation of the city of Mosul, as well as file the return of displaced people to their areas and the reconstruction of areas devastated by the fighting. " 
    He stressed Jubouri delegation US " The Iraqis are defending international peace and security and that the liberalization city of Mosul , an important step towards the restoration of other areas of Iraq from terrorism," adding that " the organization has received a painful blow in Iraq , which has proven its ability to break the backbone of terrorism, and provided for it sacrifices big". 
    He stressed Jubouri that "progress and victories completed demolished by Iraqi security forces, with the support and the assignment of the international coalition forces , " pointing to " the importance of working on the return of all displaced persons to their towns liberated, which need a major international effort for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of areas devastated due to the operations of 
    military." 
    For their part , members of the delegation expressed, for " The United States is keen to support Iraq in its war against terrorism", stressing that "the unity of Iraqis in the face of the terrorist organization Daesh an important step towards restoring stability and security in all regions of the country." 
    Furthermore, he met with the speaker of parliament, earlier the same day, the new Egyptian Ambassador Alaa Moussa, and discussed with him the security and political situation in the region, and joint cooperation to confront terrorism. Jubouri also discussed with Moussa the bilateral relations between Iraq and Egypt and ways of strengthening them to ensure the common interests between the two countries.
