    [ltr]The German government said on Wednesday that Turkey has stepped up the pace of espionage activities inside Germany, where rising tensions within the large Turkish community linked by the Turkish presidency referendum next month.[/ltr]
    [ltr]It quoted "Ropetrz" for domestic intelligence agency (Ba.av.vi) that the divisions in Turkey, before a planned referendum on April 16 on enhancing the powers of the president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was her reflection in Germany.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The agency said in a statement that it "notes a significant increase in the Turkish intelligence efforts in Germany," without providing further details.[/ltr]
    [ltr]He stressed Hans-Georg Massine head of the agency that "there is a risk the escalation of these disputes by proxy between supporters of the PKK and Turkish nationalists of the extreme right."[/ltr]
