Arbil/ Iraq TradeLink: Kurdish Investors Federation disclosed that more than 5000 Kurds and others

from Iraqi areas registered to buy real estates in Turkey.

Spokesman Yassin Mahmoud warned against Turkish attempts to "withdraw billions of dollars " from Iraq through granting the Turkish nationality and residence to Iraqi nationals .

He added that the deterioration in the security and economic conditions pushed the Iraqis to buy real estates in Turkey, particularly following the Turkish decision to grant nationality for foreigners wishing to buy real estates there .

Mahmoud pointed that during the past nine years, Iraqi citizens and investors bought 125.000 housing units with approximate costs of 18-20 billion dollars.

He warned of the flee of Iraqi and Kurdish funds and investments, which will lead to "economic collapse".

On 7 January, 2017, Turkish President Reccep Tayyib Erdogan announced that his country will grant Syrian and Iraq refugees the Turkish nationality, but did not specify the figures of such grant.

The Turkish press published, later on, the amendments on granting the Turkish nationality to foreigners.

According to Turkish statistics, the Iraqis were on the lead to buy real estates in Turkey in 2016.
