    The US embassy in Baghdad warned Tuesday of a fraudulent scheme by companies claiming to have signed a contract with the US government to build tens of thousands of housing units.
    "The US embassy is closely monitoring a fraudulent scheme by companies claiming to have signed a contract with the US government to build tens of thousands of housing units," the statement said.
    The embassy confirmed that "these allegations are baseless and intended to steal money individuals and companies."
    "The criminals who make such false claims will use a fake letterhead containing the name and address of the US embassy in an attempt to legitimize their speeches."
    The statement said that "all opportunities for legal contracting are posted on the official website of the US Embassy"
