    The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif, on Thursday, that the cost of the oil pipeline between Jordan and Iraq, ranging between 5-7 billion dollars, noting that technical studies for the project have been completed by the Iraqi Ministry of Energy.

    Official "opinion," the newspaper quoted Saif as saying, "It is the location that is the final decision by the Iraqi government in the coming period," stressing "the importance of the project for both sides great attention paid by Iraq to carry out this huge for the benefit of the two countries of the project."

    He said Saif, that " the Iraqi oil pipeline will run from the city of Najaf, along the Saudi border and down to Aqaba , " adding that " the pipeline will be built in accordance with the Build, Operate and Transfer system ( BOT ) for a period of 15-20 years , and then the pipe is owned by the two countries ".

    The two sides Jordanian and Iraqi recently agreed in Amman on the construction of a large gas pipeline parallel to the oil pipeline intended to stay, and will be equipped with stations pumping (every 100 meters station) will transfer about one million barrels of oil, cover Jordan's needs of crude oil, which is estimated at 150,000 barrels per day, while It will be transferred to the remaining quantities of Aqaba steamboats to Egypt and another section for the countries that have contracts with Iraq.

    Countries and associated prior agreement includes D Jordan with 10 thousand barrels per day of crude oil to rise to 15 thousand barrels, to be increased to 30 thousand barrels, in addition to 1,000 tons of heavy fuel oil, but the oil import from Iraq depends now as a result of the deteriorating security situation there.
