The Isles are in the music city tonight to take on the Nashville Predators at 8pm. New York's playoffs chances are about as thin as a guitar sting right now but they technically still have a chance.

Jaroslav Halak will be in net and with an injury to Shane Prince, interim head coach Doug Weight stated that he will dress seven defenseman all who are not named Ryan Pulock. Sorry, I just couldn't help myself as their is no rational argument to be made as to why this kid has been buried in Bridgeport.

This team isn't going to miss the playoffs by that much so we have but the organization under the microscope. How many points were pissed away in the third period? How many points were squandered because Jack Capuano was fired so late? How many points were thrown away because of the debacle in net. While Jaro Halak was on a tear in Bridgeport, Thomas Griess was burnt out and J.F. Berube fell flat on his face. How many games were lost because of this POWERPLAY, while a kid with a 105 MPH slap shot toiled in the AHL?

One of these alone is a fireable mistake but you add these all up and their is no argument to be made as to why Garth Snow retains his job this offseason. I am really interested to see what the new owners do this spring. They talked a huge game but now it is time to put up or shut up.

A team president, new general manager and a creative coach are all a must this offseason. Will Jonathan Ledecky be all talk or will he walk the walk and make the decisions necessary to stabilize a yet again rocky organization. It has to happen this offseason. With John Tavares being able to sign a contract on July 1st, a new, competent front office must be in place with a clear goal as to how this team will contend for a Stanley Cup. If not this year could go from bad to worse.
