Wild Equal Franchise Best 104 Pt Total

With last night's 4-3 win over the Avalanche, the Wild have equaled the franchise record in wins with 48 and points with 104, both marks were established during the 2006-07 season. Devan Dubnyk also pushed his club record win total to 40 in the process.

One game to play before that real season begins and the slate is wiped clean. A chance to establish a new club record, will mean very little if the playoff run ends prematurely.

The 82 game grind is quickly coming to an end and the anticipation of the playoffs is now less than a week away. The grind aspect of the season really took its toll on the Wild in March, but the team has started to right itself and now have won three in a row and are 4-1-2 in the last 7 overall.

One final tune-up tomorrow in Arizona and off to the dance.

It is still not official who the Wild opponent will be, but St. Louis took a big step in establishing that with their win last night. The Blues need just 1 point in their final two games to lock up 3rd place in the Central and a trip to St. Paul, for Mike Yeo and the Blues.

Not to get ahead of myself and for sure not predicting anything, but I will just say that it would be a storybook playoff for Bruce Boudreau and the Wild if it were to play out like this:

St. Louis, and Mike Yeo in round one

Chicago, to exorcise the demons in round two

Anaheim, Boudreau's former team, in the conference finals (in 7 games)

Washington, Boudreau's other former team in the Finals

Think there might be a storyline or two?
