The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) said on Sunday that the proven reserves of oil in the Arab countries estimated at the beginning of this year about 710 billion barrels.
"These Arab reserves represent 55.6 percent of the world's reserves," said Turki al-Hamash, an oil expert in the technical affairs department of OAPEC.
"Gas reserves in the Arab countries, estimated at 54 trillion cubic meters, constitute 27.7 percent of the proven gas reserves in the world," he said.
He said that the rate of oil production in the Arab countries until the end of 2016 exceeded 25 million barrels per day, in addition to about 4 million barrels of natural gas liquids, while the volume of Arab natural gas marketed in 2015 of 575 billion cubic meters. 9 p
