[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Suzan al-Sa’ad, of the parliament Fadhila bloc appreciated the Commander General of Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki’s response to her call to issue amnesty for those escapee elements of the security forces.[/ltr]
[ltr]Sa’ad said “Maliki’s quick response for our call and his issuance amnesty for the escapee security elements is a praiseworthy initiative and will contribute to rejoining many escapees and absentees to their units and offices, especially we are in an urgent need to intensify the security measures in light of the fierce terrorist attacks.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“However, it seems that the amnesty decision does not cover the security elements sentenced due to absence, so we call on Maliki to complete his initiative by issuing amnesty for those sentenced due to absence with taking written pledges over not recommitting the absence or the escape,” she added.[/ltr]
