Washington bans "ExxonMobil" work in Russia

It rejected the US Treasury Department, on Friday, a request for the US oil company "Exxon Mobil" by allowing them to explore for oil and gas in Russia, in compliance with the sanctions imposed against Moscow.
Said US Treasury Secretary, Steve Manoucan, said that the US administration will not grant exceptions to American companies, including "ExxonMobil", noting that allowing exploration is prohibited because of the sanctions on Russia.
The minister's statement after the US newspaper "The Wall Street Journal" revealed a request made by the US company to the Treasury Department to allow it to cooperate with "Rosneft" company, listed on the sanctions list, to explore for gas and oil.
The United States has, since mid-2014, a group of economic sanctions on Moscow because of its position on the Ukrainian crisis and the return of the Crimea to the strength of Russia, and to prevent sanctions US companies conducting financial transactions with entities covered by the sanctions, and prohibit its exploration of energy resources in the Algarve continental.
At the beginning of 2011, it signed "ExxonMobil" agreement with "Rosneft" in which the government owns a controlling stake, to cooperate in the development of oil and gas fields on the continental shelf of the Black Sea. In 2014, he discovered "Rosneft" and "ExxonMobil" oil field in the Kara Sea in northern Russia, but "Exxon Mobil" suspended its work because of the sanctions.
Thus, the company is losing its position Alomrakh in the Russian energy market, one of the most important markets in the world, paving the way for companies competing to win contracts valued at billions of dollars.
