    In the framework of the joint efforts of the International Organization for Migration ( IOM ) and the University of Kurdistan , organized in collaboration with the Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University Center and the Institute for International Migration Studies conference on migration and displacement in Iraq, and ensure that the conference presentation reports and research include figures for the number of displaced people and opportunities for finding durable solutions for them.
    According to IOM, in a statement, obtained (range), a copy of it, that "within the funding by the US State Department / Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, was organized a conference entitled Migration and Displacement in Iraq in Kurdistan University in Erbil governorate," indicating that " the conference focused on the various aspects of forced migration, which included its own aspects , including internal displacement and durable solutions, as well as the return of displaced persons and the difficulties encountered in their return, as well as international migration, identities and protection, and social integration. "
    Presented the conference, according to the statement, a program to discuss the results of research and the next steps in the humanitarian and early recovery in order to rebuild communities affected by the conflict and to find lasting solutions to nearly 5 million Iraqis have been affected by displacement in all parts of the country, where the reports revealed the existence of 3 million displaced people currently, and returned more than 1.7 million people to the areas of origin.
    The organization offered to international migration of several studies on migration and displacement that have been supported by research or on topics including the sites of displacement in Iraq , social cohesion and the assets of the displaced and durable solutions to displacement and migration flows from Iraq to Europe and the reasons behind migration.
    The statement quoted Jassim Dry Minister of Displacement and Migration in the Government of Iraq at the reception ceremony of the conference, saying that the "Despite the many difficulties and the continuation of the war to this day, but thanks to the cooperation and the special efforts made by the regional government and local and international organizations working in Iraq and the Kurdistan region, and civil society organizations and local efforts to people good, we were able to provide basic services to the displaced, but that does not mean there are no other problems facing the displaced, Displacement itself is a crisis and we try as much as possible to temper the pace of it, but we can not we solve all Problems. "
    For his part, Minister of the Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Karim Sinjari, in his opening speech, "We believe that this important attempt was organized at an appropriate time to examine the issues, obstacles and challenges related to displacement , according to the views of everyone. We hope to be studied displacement crisis scientifically, and that is provide practical and realistic suggestions so that we can implement for the purpose of reaching a lasting solution contributes to the restoration of peace, stability and prosperity in all societies. "
    While the Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq , Lisa Grande noted that the pace of displacement in Iraq since the emergence of the organization Daesh in 2014 an unprecedented, can not be underestimated sharply the problems faced by the displaced people when they return, will suffer these communities from the destruction of schools , health clinics and water systems and the risk of collective punishment, and as such, the convening of such a conference is critical, because it combines the best ideas in Iraq and all over the world who understand these types of issues, and to discuss the difficulties and charting the way forward together. " in
    turn expressed the Consul General American Consulate In Erbil , Henry Haggard for the United States pleased that "this conference , which brought together more than 40 researchers from Iraq and outside support," he said . "We look forward to working with you all to reach a common understanding of the biggest difficulties we face and find beneficial solutions."
    To that , President of the international Organization Mission for migration ( IOM ) in Iraq , Dr. Thomas Luther Weiss, "this conference is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and findings about the displacement by providing this academic research firm, provides, the conference brought together all of the humanitarian organizations and stakeholders, so that we can all work together to implement this knowledge, in order to use our limited resources Bach Each effectively to help the most affected by the current crisis of Iraqis , "while Abbarhemen Hussein Mirkan Director of Kurdistan University in Erbil was pleased with this
