    Baghdad - Mawazine News
The Iraqi Observatory for Press Freedoms announced on Tuesday that 21 Iraqi journalists were martyred during a year. He pointed out that journalists, photographers and executives were subjected to violence and detention. He considered that Iraq remains the most dangerous environment for journalists.
"The Observatory recorded from 3-5 to 2016 to 3 -5-2017 the killing of 21 Iraqi journalists, an increase in the number of those who died last year," said Hadi Glow Mari, head of the observatory, Hadi Glow Meri.
"This indicates that Iraq remains the most dangerous environment for journalists despite calls for more protective measures and the laws that have been passed," Mari said.
"Correspondents, photographers and executives have been subjected to violence and detention, and others have faced judicial calls from government officials, parliamentarians and members of provincial councils." Ending / 29/5

On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day: Report: 21 Iraqi journalists killed in a year

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi Observatory for Press Freedoms reported that 21 Iraqi journalists were killed in a year, most of them during the coverage of military operations against a militant organization.
In a report issued by the Iraqi Observatory on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day on May 3, the attacks and abuses against journalists were monitored, according to the director of the Observatory Hadi Glow Meri in an interview.
Mari reported the deaths of 21 journalists in Iraq between May 3, 2016 and the same date this year, adding that most of these were reporters and military photographers who were killed during their coverage of Iraqi forces' operations against Da'ash in Mosul, Anbar, Tikrit and Diyala.
Mari confirmed that the report of the Observatory this year also includes attacks against journalists from arrest, detention, trials and others throughout Iraq, including the Kurdistan region.
In the same context, called on the Committee on Culture and Information Parliamentary Tuesday to form a committee to follow up the attacks on media, including the threat while performing their work to provide a safe working environment for journalists in Iraq. Finished
