Real-life Lassie: Abandoned dog leads rescuers TWO MILES into the country to collect her 10 puppies after escaping from animal shelter

    • Betty Boop was left in the country by her owners for an unknown amount of time
    • She was rescued but would not stop crying and workers noticed she was nursing
    • When they let her out she led rescuers two miles into the country to her puppies

A 'real-life Lassie' led rescuers to her ten puppies she had given birth to in an abandoned barn.
Krystle Woodward, 33, from Fowler, California runs the Pinky Paws ResQ, a non-profit animal rescue centre, and was determined to help the stray she named Betty Boop.
But, the canine kept escaping and eventually led her rescuers to the litter of puppies that she had been running off to feed.
