    Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, discussed leader of Turkey's Republican People's Party (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi, CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and the delegation accompanying him the relations between Iraq and Turkey.

    A statement issued on Wednesday, Aug. 21, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that in the meeting, Zebari stressed the importance to rectify the relations between the two countries and to work together toward solving all outstanding issues on the political and economic levels in the interests of the people of both countries.

    For his part, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed hope that the relations between Iraq and Turkey be strengthened in light of mutual history.

    Earlier in the day, Kılıçdaroğlu arrived in Baghdad and with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki. / End
