Bashar al-Jaafari, head of the Syrian government's delegation to the Geneva talks, condemned Friday the US air strike in Syria, saying it embodies "government terrorism" and caused a massacre, he said.
He said he raised the issue during talks with Staffan de Mistura, the UN special envoy to Syria.
Jaafari told reporters that the delegation had discussed in detail what he described as the massacre committed by the United States on Thursday.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov condemned the strike earlier, saying it was unacceptable and wounded civilians.
Gattilov said in Geneva that the American strike violated Syria's sovereignty and would not help efforts to find a political solution to the conflict.
US officials told Reuters that the US military on Thursday carried out a strike against a faction allied to the Syrian government.
The platoon was a threat to US and Syrian-backed Syrian forces in the south of the country, officials said
