Today we continue our "Bolts By The Number" segment by taking a look at the gentlemen who wore the number three at some point during the Tampa Bay Lightning's history.

Just like the number two, 11 different men rocked the number three for the Bolts. All of them were defensemen, and nobody wore it for very long.

    Let's get this party started...

    Shawn Rivers

Does the name Shawn Rivers sound familiar to you? Well... it shouldn't. Rivers only played four games for the Lightning in the 1992-93 season. These would be the only games he would play in the NHL.

    Doug Crossman

Crossman was selected in the sixth round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. He had a pretty extensive career, playing in 914 games from 1980 to 1994 and acquiring 464 points. However, he did not spend very long with the Lightning, playing 40 games in 1992-93 season.

    Eric Charron

Charron was drafted 20th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1988. He played a grand total of three games with the Habs before going to the Bolts for the 1993-94 season. Over three seasons, Charron suited up for 63 games with the Lightning.

    Pavel Kubina

Kubina was drafted by the Lightning in the seventh round of the 1996 draft. He would go on to have quite an impressive career with the Bolts spanning over ten years. Although the number usually associated with Kubina and Tampa Bay was 13, he actually started off wearing the number three.

Kubina played in 662 games with the Lightning, scoring 72 goals, adding 171 assists, and help bring a Stanley Cup to Tampa Bay.

    Sergey Gusev

Gusev is another player that did not have an NHL career worth remembering. Over three season, he played in 58 games with the Lightning. He scored three of his four NHL goals with the Bolts, which I guess is cool.

    Sami Helenius

Helenius played 155 games in the NHL. Four of them were with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He did score a goal so there is that.

    Grant Ledyard

Ledyard and an 18-year-long NHL career, playing for nine different franchises. At the very tail-end of his career, Ledyard played in two seasons with the Lightning, seeing action in 67 games.

    Marc Bergevin

Bergevin, the current general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, signed with the expansion Lightning for the 1992-93 season. He was a key member of the Bolts' blueline and served as an alternate captain for part of his tenure. Bergevin played a whopping 1,191 games in the NHL with eight different teams.

    Doug Janik

Janik was drafted in second round of the 1999 draft by the Buffalo Sabres. He played for the Lightning during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons, totaling 136 games. Offense was not a strength of his as he only recorded 15 points.

    Ty Wishart

Wishart is another one of those names you may not be familiar with. He only played five games for the Lightning during the 2008-09 season.

    Keith Aulie

Aulie was spent some time on the Lightning blueline from the 2011-12 season to the 2013-14 season. He played in 79 games, racked up nine points, and spent 82 minutes in the penalty box.
