Planning: Inflation in April rose by 0.6% for rising housing and food prices

The Ministry of Planning announced that the index of inflation for the month of April by [0.6] compared to the month of March, which preceded.
The official spokesman of the Ministry of Planning Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi said in a statement received by the agency of all Iraq [where] a copy of it, "The Central Bureau of Statistics completed the report of the figures for the prices of the property for the month of April 2017 adoption of 2012 base year of the calculation instead of 2007 as the year that the survey Social and economic status of the family in Iraq, a year represented by changes in the level of living for the family and the structure of household consumption expenditure and the economic situation in the country by about a year.
He pointed out that "the price survey for the month of April included for the first time the province of Salah al-Din after a halt since June 2014, while the provinces of Anbar and Nineveh were not covered because of the prevailing conditions."
"The high prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages came as a result of higher prices of bread and cereals by 0.5 percent due to higher prices of rice and higher prices of vegetables by 13 percent due to higher prices of tomatoes and higher prices of sugar, sugar and non-alcoholic beverages, [0.1%] each ".
"Prices of meat and fish fell by between 0.7 percent and 1.2 percent. The prices of milk, cheese, eggs, oil, fat, fruit, and other food products, as well as clothing and footwear, fell between [0.7 percent] and [2.5 percent] , And on the other hand, prices of housing and tobacco increased by between [0.3-0.4%].
He pointed out that "the prices of equipment, furniture, household equipment, health, transportation, communication, education and restaurants have also decreased by a little (0.5%), and kept the entertainment, culture, goods and services at their prices."
He attributed the rise in the annual inflation rate during the month of April compared to the same month of the previous year of 2016 and by [1%] to the high prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages by [0.6%] and higher prices of the tobacco section by [6%] 2.5%] ".
He pointed out that the index of consumer prices during the month of April [105.1%] reflecting the increase in the general level of prices by [5.1%] compared to 2012, "revealing" that the rate of inflation basis fell during the month of April by [0.2%] , And rose by the same percentage compared with the month of April 2016.
