The United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in the Afghan capital of Kabul, calling it "gangs and cowards".
"The members of the Security Council condemned the brutal and despicable terrorist attack on May 31, 2017 in the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, in which about 400 people were killed and wounded, almost all civilians, including women and children, as well as representatives of the media ".
The UN Security Council expressed its condolences to the families of the dead and the people and the government of Afghanistan and wished speedy recovery of the injured.
The Council stressed that terrorism in all its forms was one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. He stressed the need to prosecute and hold the responsibility of all those involved in terrorist acts of the perpetrators and organizers and financiers.
He called on all States to implement their obligations in accordance with international law and the resolutions of the Security Council and requested them to cooperate in this field with the Government of Afghanistan and with all the competent bodies there.
