Jordanian army commander confirmed that the Jordanian armed forces will not have any presence in Syria and "will not enter," according to the website of the armed forces.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. General Mahmoud Fraihat while attending a banquet breakfast with retired military Wednesday evening, said that "the armed forces will not have any presence or enter Syrian territory as rumored and said through various media."

The Web site said that the director of military intelligence provided "concise Arab and regional events in the region and the latest developments on the border areas of northern and eastern ones" with Syria and Iraq in particular.

Damascus was accused Amman of involvement in the plan for military action in southern Syria, and warned that it will deal with any Jordanian intervention force Syria without coordination with it, as a hostile.

But Jordan's King Abdullah II announced on April 26 last that his country continues its defense policy in the Syrian depth "without the need for the role of the Jordanian Army inside Syria."

And the king said, "We will not allow developments on the Syrian arena and southern Syria to threaten Jordan."
