Britain resumes election campaign after the London attack

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

Resume on Monday the election campaign in Britain after it was suspended on Sunday following an attack "London Bridge" terrorist who declared the organization "Daesh" claimed responsibility for. The opinion polls indicate trouble facing Theresa May the British Prime Minister.

After an attack of London on Saturday, May resume the election campaign, only three days of the election, which polls show before it is a lot harder than expected in the previous

May said that Britain should be more stringent in the elimination of extremism Islamists after run over three attackers passing on London Bridge before the vehicle to challenge others in the nearby streets, killing seven people and wounding 48.

After a third militant attack seen in Britain in less than three months, May said that the elections will take place on Thursday on time. But she said Britain was tolerant too much with extremism. The Conservative leader said outside her office in Downing Street, where cresting "can not allow the violence to derail the democratic process."

Announced the organization of "Daesh" claimed responsibility for the attack through the agency "deep" news of him. According to a statement published by the depths of the "detachment of its fighters carried out attacks in London yesterday."

London police arrested 12 people in connection with the attack in east London and said that their campaigns are still ongoing. Police did not reveal the names of the attackers.

It was not clear whether the attack would affect the election. The election campaign was suspended for several days last month when a suicide bomber killed 22 people at a ceremony for American singer Ariana Grande in Manchester.

Even before the London Bridge attack was a gamble May to call for an early election on the eighth of June at stake, as opinion polls show that the Conservative Party (BNP) has collapsed in recent weeks.
