[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Defense and Security Committee discussed the decision of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, over transferring the Correction Prisons within the Ministry of Justice to the authority of the Federal Police.[/ltr]
[ltr]The member the Committee MP, Ammar Tuma, stated in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com “We have discussed this decision which is to transfer three thousand guards of the MoJ to the FP within the Ministry of Interior where we realized that the decision is not suitable due to the difference between the tasks of the guards and those of the FP.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“We think that transferring them to any other directorate that suits their tasks even within the MoI,” he concluded.[/ltr]
